I was born and raised in Treviso, Italy and attended Culinary School in Venice, Italy. I came to Los Angeles as a young chef sponsored by Gio’s restaurant on Sunset Blvd. I opened Bocca on Melrose, Bistango in Irvine, Rex in Newport Beach, and ventured out to Honolulu, Hawaii, with Nick’s Fish Market. The last 15 years have been spent in Carlsbad. I am most recognized for my 10-year career as the creator of West Steak and Seafood as well as Bistro West in Carlsbad. I also spent a few years with ChartHouse at Dana Point. I reside in San Marcos, and am so excited to share my point of view with San Marcos! I am now venturing out on my own with a small restaurant in San Marcos where I am putting my name, knowledge, expertise to work.

Probably the best spinach ravioli I’ve ever had!
The dinner rolls (I think ciabatta ?) were also one of the highlights.
Super friendly staff and attentive.
We were staying at a nearby hotel and one of the suggestions on their list was Eugenio Italian Ristorante. So we decided to give the place a try.
The inside restaurant was packed and we soon found out it was best to get reservations in advance. However, there were available chairs outside in a covered patio, so we decided we would sit out there and enjoy the weather.
Although the specials sounded amazing, who couldn’t resist fried mozzarella, because we didn’t want leftovers, we decided to split the chicken piccata with spinach, ravioli, mashed potatoes, vegetables, eggplant.
We were not disappointed! The presentation was fancy and the food exceeded our expectations.
Again, compliments to the chef!
If you’re trying to decide what restaurant to go to, you don’t need to look further. This is the place to go. Great food, great people, great value!
We went right as they opened for dinner so the service was good. Our server was David, he was attentive and friendly. We know that good food takes time so we enjoyed our time together while we waited between courses.
We had the Marinated Salmon Carpaccio and the Mozzarella Caprese for appetizers. They were both very fresh and tasty.
For dinner we had Butternut Squash Ravioli, Vegan and Gluten Free Garden Vegetable Ravioli, Osso Buco, and the Lasagna al Ragu Bolognese. Everything came out together and was piping hot, which was amazing. Everyone loved the food. It was absolutely delicious.
For dessert we had the tiramisu, which was so light and fluffy. They even had Happy Birthday written in chocolate on the plate.
We will definitely visit again to try more items on the menu! So good!!! Don’t miss this place if you enjoy gourmet cuisine.
Our server was Jason and he was AWESOME. He was super knowledgeable about all the dishes, right down to how different sauces were made. He did an amazing job despite not having a busboy. I had the Lobster Tortelli, and it was YUMMY ! The other popular dish at the table was the Chicken Parmigian, it looked incredible ! The only small thing I dont recommend is the garlic bread, it was sub par. That said, this place is a KEEPER !! Great food, service and prices. Hidden gem for sure !!
Prices higher but fair when you consider portion size and of course the cost of food.
