Wow. I didn’t expect to find good Japanese food next to a travel hotel. The atmosphere is like a medium size, Japanese City, local restaurant. First of all, I judge a sushi restaurant based upon the rice. If the rice isn’t good, it does not matter the toppings. The rice was correctly seasoned and complimented whatever toppings were on the sushi. We also had a donbury and a ramen and both were excellent. The staff was attentive and friendly. We were very impressed and very happy to have found this place on a cold December evening. The quality for what we pay I’m getting out.

Stopped by here before going to SFO and was very happy with the sushi! I would highly recommend the Bashamichi roll. I also got the O Toro nigiri and the hamachi nigiri. Would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting high-quality sushi and a chill environment. The service was also amazing – sit at the bar if you can and the chefs will hand your sushi to you!

Unexpectedly good. Excellent nigiri. Hand rolls just right. Balance of fish and flavor. They have the basics and I’d love to see them venture to other kinds of fish like mackerel and sardine. If I lived locally I’d come here again and again. Nice Japanese music. Easy atmosphere. Enjoyable for a long meal.

The fish is so fresh and sweet! Definitely recommend! Will come again to try the ramen.
The price is reasonable. You can park in the underground parking lot of the hotel next door.
The bento comes with two sizes: two dishes or three dishes. Mine is two and it’s enough for an adult.

Very surprising hole in the… hotel? spot in Millbrae. Nigiri is incredibly flavorful and fresh, their rolls are also tasty while not cheaping out on filling and quality. The restaurant itself is quiet but great for families to wind down

Tried Bashamichi Sushi for the first time. We ordered the “Lover’s Combo” sushi platter. It came with dragon roll, rainbow rolls, assorted nigiri and sashimi. Each piece was delicious. The fish was high quality and served at the perfect temperature. We also tried the Mixed Tempura for texture and it was good.
Service was excellent and friendly. I recommend!

This place is not for the people who wants to eat fast food, you need to wait a long time for your food specially if the restaurant has a lot of customers. They probably will take between 40 minutes to 1 hour to serve you. They need to learn to serve all the food together for the same party and not 1 person and then the other person 20 minutes later… we ordered the Bashamishi combo, Tonkotsu ramen with the appetizer oysters. Everything was acceptable but not exceptional. I felt that the oysters were ok.
Visited the restaurant again and ordered the lover’s plate sushi and sashimi and my friends said it was excellent. Ordered the mix tempura which was very good too. Again this place is to relax and talk with friends.

This place is the bomb! My husband and son found it by accident and it has become the go to place on the way to the airport. Fish was fresh and done perfectly. Rolls were beautifully presented and very tasty. Everyone enjoyed their dinners. I had the unagi bowl and it was great but could have been a little warmer. Service was perfect and we will be back! Very reasonably priced. You will enjoy it.

Not gonna lie. The idea of dining in a sushi restaurant literally located underneath the room floors of La Quinta inns sounds a little shady, but the best places I’ve eaten at are exactly located in a humble setting. I was heading to the airport and wanted dinner before my flight. This location was only 10 minutes away from the terminals so it was very convenient, and for some reason my gut was telling me to go here and I am so glad I did!
My beau and I started off our meal with a bowl of miso soup, and Hamachi blossom which is an appetizer Crudo. There is a ponzo sauce on top of it with a slight creme. Then we have our entourage of nigiri. I have noticed with this place that their sushi pieces are served dressed up. There is additional toppings on some, sauces on some, or the scallops are seared with a blowtorch, and the fattier fish has wasabi in it to cut the fattiness. I appreciate the attention to detail, and it reminds me of the time I’ve had omakase. How each piece is different, has a story to speak for themselves.
Also, last thing to note, free parking! Just on the left of the hotel check in entrance and you can turn into the car garage that leads down.
Gochisosama! 🙂
