I stopped by Kampuchea Kitchen while driving through the North Shore near Kahuku, and it turned out to be a great place to experience Cambodian flavors on Oahu. The restaurant is small and casual, but it stands out because Cambodian cuisine is not very common in Hawaii.
The menu features a mix of traditional Cambodian dishes built around rice, grilled meats, and flavorful sauces. The dishes tend to balance savory, slightly sweet, and tangy elements, which gives the food a distinctive flavor compared to other Southeast Asian cuisines.
One thing that stood out to me was the freshness of the ingredients. The meals are straightforward but satisfying, with well-seasoned meats and simple sides that complement the main dishes.
The atmosphere feels very local and relaxed. The restaurant is more of a neighborhood-style spot rather than a large dining space, which fits well with the laid-back North Shore environment.
Service during my visit was friendly and welcoming, and the food arrived quickly after ordering.
What I appreciated most about Kampuchea Kitchen is how it introduces Cambodian flavors in a very approachable way. It is a nice change of pace from the many other food options along the North Shore.
Overall, Kampuchea Kitchen is a great stop if you are driving through Kahuku and want to try something a little different while exploring the area.

Great food truck food! Variety of choices from Chinese to Thai to Philly cheese steaks. We got the shrimp fried rice, cheese fries and shrimp/veggies and it was all great. One of the best cheese steaks on the island!

Unfortunately not really much in the way of actual Cambodian food but the food have its phenomenal. I have the skewered beef combo with yellow rice and it was some of the best beef I’ve had on the island. Food prep time is long but that’s because they are making it fresh to order. Fyi, this is in a large food truck park with shared tables & restrooms. It gets crowded and the lines can be long after 1. Also, the restrooms are poorly maintained if at all.

It was excellent, freshly made, lots of “extra” veggies and a very nice garnish of cucumber on the side. I wasn’t sure what to expect and a different “truck” experience wasn’t as nice as this. I’d recommend it.

I loved this! I love the fried chicken and the cheese fries. Best cheese fries on the island. The owners were extremely nice and friendly, they let me take a photo of the cheese I should use and gave me advice when it came to buying it and which one was good and bad. The food is made quickly, yet it’s still amazing. It’s so good! I love this place and hope to come again when I visit Hawaii.

I tried to support this local food truck but it’s really bad. The chicken wings were super dry (looked like have been putting for a long time) and we tried their chow fun, it was sweet! I will rather eat at other food truck

All their food is amazing. We’ve been going for years. My favorite is the philly cheese steak sandwich – best on island!
I like to ask for no Mayo and add peppers.
The food is consistent, always good and fairly priced. And there is a wide variety, something for everyone if you have a lot of picky eaters.

I happened to come over here a while ago and noticed a Cambodian gut truck! It’s hard to find authentic Cambodian food but it was good! The owner was super nice and it was nice to speak to someone else who wasn’t family far away in Khmer! It was awesome.

The server was friendly and made good recommendations. The food was all fresh and took about 10-15 minutes for it to be cooked to order.

There isn’t really any “Khmer Dishes”. I was excited to see this in Hawaii but was quickly disappointed when the menu served hamburgers and fries instead of traditional Cambodian dishes. Strange name for a food truck.
