From the street, La Fonda looks like an older, hole in the wall that isn’t even open. However, parking and entrance in rear. Vibe is alive with good mix of locals and newbies like me but is not noisy or cramped.
Family owned since 1970’s service was warm and friendly and interior was was pretty novel and warm as well (they even had a faux firelplace which was nice on the cold evening).
Food is pretty good, better than any Mexican chain I have visted. The drinks were strong and good too.

I have some friends who are very loyal fans of this restaurant. Me personally, after trying the first time I was not impressed. I want to say that the staff were fantastic, the servers were super attentive and friendly, honestly superb service! And the atmosphere is excellent as well, both inside and out it is a beautiful restaurant. But after my friends hyped up the restaurant, I felt a bit let down with the food. Everything was fine, but I just felt for the price point I expected to be wowed. I wanted a cheaper option, but there really is no value option here. They charge an additional $6 for an appetizer if you order it as an entreé, so basically everything is in the $18-30 range. Most entreés around $24 I think. The portion sizes were good, but that being said I am still used to much lower prices for Mexican food. If you want to go to a Mexican restaurant that is a nicer sit down experience with good atmosphere and service for a special occasion this spot does make sense. In this economy in such an expensive area to live I suppose the prices are fair. But me personally, I really care more about the value so I would stick to cheaper options.

Wanted to try this location for a potential birthday celebration. We ordered: carne asada, combo grilled chicken and prawns, chile verde, tacos Al pastor and fajitas de res. We also ordered : guacamole dip to share and house margarita double shot blended. Omg. Let me say, that their portion is huge and the guacamole dip was so but so good and their margaritas was super strong. I definitely go back for the food and their service.

This is a busy family run restaurant. Make a reservation during peak times is my suggestion. The service is super friendly and fast and they make you feel special. The ambiance is warm, vibrant and reminds of Mexican hacienda. The servings are generous. The food overall is well presented and tasty. Yup, try this restaurant. You will like it.

The place had beautiful stained glass all over, loved the vibe! There weren’t too many people on a Thursday evening. My friend and I ordered enchiladas, they were really good. We were surprised that we were able to finish our portions. Tortilla chips were super hard and we didn’t end up having any! The server was very kind and patient ✨

The restaurant is too dark inside except the areas where the windows are located. The food is average but the steak has an acceptable flavor. The fish seems frozen and not fresh. Again the flavors of the refried beans and rice are ok

Has amazing food and I have had a great share of Mexican restaurants. Margaritas are a little strong but the food was great. If I can ask someone there I’m not from the area I would like to know the ingredients of the salad that comes with the burrito you order.

Super cute Mexican restaurant with probably the nicest waitress I’ve ever had. Everything we ordered was delicious. Chips were thick and extra crunchy.
