Pizza Joe’s on Highland Ave. in New Castle, PA is the second Pizza Joe’s location! It’s been on the north side of the city for more than 35 years.

Justin Alison took over this location about two months ago and Ive had nothing but negative experiences. He also owns the Bessemer location and everyone also says it’s terrible since he’s taken ownership, and always get over charged.
He claims his prices have went up three times since taking over this location (despite prices remaining the same at every other location), and blames the point of sale system for not processing coupons or offers sent out correctly.
They overcharged me 5 separate times, the last time more than $40 over the price quoted to me on the phone. I called for clarification and his son argued with me that the 2 for $25 offer (I ordered 2 of these) is actually wrong and my total was $89. I accepted this, and then he called back later and continued to argue with me, so I said I’d stop in to listen to his explanation after my event.
When I stopped in to discuss the matter with him, I was directed towards his father Justin, who was exceptionally rude and condescending, and swore at myself and my fiancée and also made threats, told me Joe and Andrew Seminara were a derogatory term, and told me to go to state street from now on.
Hopefully they can get things turned around, and things improve as they get acclimated to the new location.

Great selection of pizza…. Helpful n Cheerful staff… real quick n easy location to come n go… return customer fosure… return visit yesterday, again, fantastic!!! Forgot to mention…cash customers save money, vs card users…..

I used to live across the street from here about 9 years ago and I frequently came here. I admit the food is fantastic. The service wasn’t so great though. Our bathroom was being renovated at one point so sometimes I would come to use the restroom and sometimes when I did I would also order some food. One of the employees said I couldn’t use the restroom anymore and was very rude about it. So I just quit giving them my business. I don’t live around here anymore but I’d love to find a place that made a vegetable pizza like this place does.

My wife and I ordered pizza through DoorDash from here last night. First, the prices for what we ordered are absolutely crazy. $15 for a 10 inch 6 cut specialty pizza is ridiculous. I can get more pizza for less at any other chain. We got the dippin stix which had about as much flavor and palatability as the carboard box it came in. We also got the cinnamon sticks as a dessert and they barely had any cinnamon or flavor. We were extremely disappointed in the food we received. On top of that, both of us are fighting over our bathroom today because we are both really sick. I’m not sure what part of dinner caused this, but since that was the only meal we had eaten yesterday, we know it was the food we ordered that made us sick. I did take the time to email their corporate office through their website. If Pizza Joe’s makes things right, this review may go from a 1 star to a 3 star, but they have a lot of work to do to get the higher rating from me. I used to love Pizza Joe’s and am very disheartened to have had this experience.

I am not one for leaving comments or reviews, but i decided to make an exception this instance. I was very impressed during my last visit at the Croton Ave location. Speaking as someone who had many years in management in the food service industry, I always am impressed whenever I see a well run restaurant and see guests leaving happy and satisfied. This evening it took the franchise owner rolling up his sleeves and getting behind the line making food to make this happen. It’s very rare when you see a franchise owner in the back of the restaurant, let alone working during a busy shift. That kind of passion for the business and caring of the staff shows. Even the gentleman grabbing my order was enthusiastic to talk to me about the owner and got my food promptly. I will gladly continue coming to this location if this is the level of service that we all receive. Thank you.

Always clean with friendly prompt employees. Service is quick whether ordering delivery through door dash or calling for pick up. Always have had a good experience. Food was always perfect as it should be. Couldn’t ask for a better experience.

I’ve ordered wings from Croton Ave Pizza Joe’s that were really good but tonight I ordered a dozen Hot Garlic 30 minutes before they closed and they didn’t have any garlic and they were not hot. No flavor at all. I would like to tell you NOT to order when kids are working and it’s almost closing time! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

Have been long time customer at this shop order the Philly steak sandwich the amount of steak on this sandwich has been very disappointing, loading a sub with vegetables dosent make up for lack of meat, Subway uses more on there’s but I’d rather go to a family owned business I’d rather pay 50cents more for a quality sub. So maybe a customer that probably spends about $80 a month could make a recommendation to a good local restaurant and they would take it seriously, thank you for your continued service to our community
