Understory is a new experience from the team at Wolf’s Ridge Brewing. Our multi-purpose building features a cocktail bar, fast-casual restaurant, patio and events space. For winter of 2023, our patio will be fully equipped with 50+ person heated tent!

Finally came to this beautiful basement restaurant after a winter storm. The dining room was beautiful with lovely decorations. WiFi was fast. Some board games were provided. The patio was covered by snow.
We ordered a cheeseburger and a buffalo chicken sandwich with side salad. The salad dressing tasted too sour for me. The burger was juicy with a medium temperature beef patty. But I got sort of allergic to it, probably because of something in the patty. The buffalo chicken was good to me with crispy fried chicken. The food was a little disappointing to me compared with this lovely vibe where I could stay for a whole day.

Food was delicious! & the greenhouse we rented was so cozy & romantic! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary & it was o so special here ❤️ perfect, you can play your own music & its very intimate. Service was amazing as well. Everyone was so nice & attentive

I’ve been meaning to come here since the concept started being talked about years ago. Beautiful day and wanted to sit on a patio, this place came to mind. Beautiful old converted building, we opted to go to the commons area. The layout makes perfect sense, and I would say is the gold standard of counter service set-ups. The menu is smaller, but by no means small. The terrace is absolutely beautiful with plenty of seating and this patio is IDEAL for people who want to bring their furry friends with them. The cocktails are a little pricey for the counter service setup, but tasty none the less. They have all of the Wolfsridge favorites on draft and in cans too. There’s not much too to comment on in terms of service since it’s not a full service experience, just a few people looking bored behind a counter. The appetizers were adequately portioned and really good. I’m looking forward to returning and trying the different floors of the concept.

An absolutely wonderful experience here! We made a reservation for the greenhouse a few days ago. Owen, our server, was attentive, professional and with excellent recommendations. He truly made the experience above and beyond. The sliders were to die for and the expresso martini was top notch! Also, don’t sleep on the greenhouse experience-cozy, spacious, with heaters and music. Thank out for an amazing time we will be back!

I absolutely love the building, indoor and outdoor space. When it first opened it was my go-to-place. Unfortunately, they changed the menu. When they first opened, the menu paired well with the drink menu, which are upscale cocktails around $15. They had a delicious goat cheese croquettes and a popular hummus dip with vegetables for example. Now, their menu leans more towards beer bar food: sliders, soft pretzels. It is still a wonderful place but the change in menu took my five star rating to a three star. I will go for the cocktails and ambience, but their menu isn’t much different from a cheaper dive beer bar.

I had my wedding at Understory about a week ago. We had a total of 60 people, and the space was the perfect size.
Planning the wedding with Haley was easy and stress-free. On the day of, the coordinator and banquet captain were helpful and amazing. The best part of this venue is that it is beautiful as-is, so I did not have to decorate that much— I just added some simple flowers and candles.
All of my guests complimented the venue and said they had a great time. I highly recommend having your wedding here: It is an elegant space and the staff is friendly and professional. Thank you Understory!

I’ve been obsessed with Understory for quite a bit. I love the uniqueness of the building architecture and the original elements that remain throughout. I wanted a more moody vibe for our October wedding and it was the perfect setting. I was thrilled when the Fieldhouse event space upstairs was available. Haley was super helpful and answered any questions I had.
I was able to customize the menu to fit our needs and it was the perfect day for our intimate wedding. The space felt very cozy – we had around 80 guests. We got so many compliments about our day. It was perfect and I wish I could experience it all again!
I do recommend having a solid plan for setup/cleanup since you can’t leave decor overnight.

Drinks are a bit on the pricey side but they do pack a punch. On our visit we just missed the dining hours and I can’t wait to come back to try brunch.

Finally made it in with some friends to try the food and loved the ambiance of the outdoor patio. It was a bit frustrating to have to order crisps or fries separately to enjoy with the fried goat cheese- something should be served with that without the additional cost.
Food is very clean and fresh tasting but is not something to rave about.

We held an event with 80 people here, and cannot say enough positive things about the day! We rented the entire second floor with the terrace, which was wonderful for people to move about. Having the food and bar in a separate room was perfect. We had so many compliments on the food. It was all delicious and unique! The atmosphere was casual and pleasantly inviting. Debi was so helpful in determining the perfect menu selections and quantities, as well as room set up. Jen, Lila, Jerald, and Zoey were perfectly attentive and beyond helpful throughout the event. All the linens were in place when we arrived, which made set up go very quickly and smoothly. Very organized! Having an elevator was very convenient for some of our guests. This was such a great place to host an event, with a cool vibe and awesome food! Thank you all!

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at the private event space on the 2nd floor. We rented out the venue for the entire day, had a wonderful brunch and such a fun reception! Haley helped us plan our entire event and we can’t say enough great things about her. The staff who helped the day run smoothly were wonderful, calming, flexible, and professional. The food was delicious and drinks were excellent. The weather was also perfect and the balcony was well used during our reception. We loved having our wedding at The Understory, and it’s so fun we can go back to grab a drink or a bite and reminisce!
