Drip Cafe in Hockessin De
It’s a unique experience, these no waitresses or waiters to help you with anything when it comes to deciding on what I good to eat! Its name should be called Internet cafe. This spot if for 25 years olds. These two ways of ordering stand on a line and had and find a table or sit at your table and scan a QR code. That’s it! The only human interaction. Now if you go the route we took and place our food and coffee through the QR scan MAKE SURE YOU TELL THE EXACTLY HOW YIU WANT EVERYTHING MADE, especially the coffee make sure you leave a comment stating that to leave room for creamer and sugar if not you will have an spill. They’re attention to detail isn’t there one priority, our coffee came and the lady just left didn’t ask with we need anything no spoon or sugar or creamer nothing. Unfortunately our bacon can out cold my food was tasteful but my potatoes were cold I had the burrito bowl. The upside is that my wife’s Mediterranean pita was good at first but it didn’t hold itself after 2 bites. We won’t be back. But if you like the traditional way for ordering or an human interaction that isn’t the spot for you. 1 out of 5 star.

I have actually never had anything from Drip that I didn’t like! From their drinks to their pastries to their seasonal specials, everything is consistently good. I love the unique flavors and ideas in many of the dishes. The service is quick. The atmosphere is that of a busy cafe/coffee shop. Always worth a stop!

I stopped into Drip Cafe recently and was surprised by my experience. There were only a handful of guests dining and no line when I walked in. I placed a very simple drink order and moved to the pickup area. Shortly after, another customer walked in.

It was clear the clerk and this customer were familiar with each other, as she quickly helped complete his order. At that point, my drink had already been started — the cup was pulled and the first ingredient added. After a brief interaction between the two employees, my drink was moved back in the queue and the new customer’s order was prioritized.

I then had to watch that drink be made and the customer walk out before mine was resumed and completed.

I believe that’s poor service etiquette. Orders should be completed in the order they’re received, regardless of familiarity. I work in the same parking lot and have been coming here for years. I always tip well and treat staff respectfully. I simply expect the same level of professionalism in return.

To be honest, this type of inefficiency is the primary reason I don’t return more frequently. Consistency and fairness in service matter, especially for repeat local customers.

Ordered a tea and forgot to get a tea bag (first time visiting so was a bit confused) they allowed me to come back to pick one. Decided to order the apple pancakes, good but def too sweet for me but glad I tried. Will be going back to try their salad and coffee

Update: Back here again, and another table covered in the last person’s breakfast. Gross. (Picture included.)

For one of the most expensive breakfast places in town, it leaves a lot to be desired. I’ll start with the good though. Their coffee has a unique flavor which I quite enjoy. They also make fantastic pancakes and waffles. Their specialties, like the cali sandwich and the tostada stack are good offerings. Finally, the atmosphere is pretty decent though a bit loud and “echo-y.” Where my complaint comes from are the following.

1. The seats are all ripped up, and the tables are almost always sticky with bits of food that stick in your clothes.

2. This place has no clue how to cook meat. Everything is burnt, dried out, and full of salt and fat. The sausage is the absolute worst. Picture eating burnt rosemary and fennel seeds held together by a little gristle. I’m glad they finally got ham/Canadian bacon again, but you can only eat about 2/3 of it. It’s full of connecting tissue and omg so much salt.

3. Service is nearly non-existent. They kept remote ordering leftover from COVID. Yeah, that can be a nice option, but it means no one will ever come and ask if you need anything. You are on your own. They even forget to bring utensils quite often. So, expect to get up at least 3 times to ask for things like boxes, napkins, a fork, or if you actually want milk in your coffee.

4. The bathroom doors open with very minor pressure even if they are locked. I’ve gotten to awkwardly meet a lot of new people in the Dr!p bathrooms! Lol

5. The prices are just too high. It’s very easy for one person to spend over $20 for breakfast simply by ordering a meal and a coffee. (Plus tip) Eggs aren’t $9 a dozen anymore… Prices need to be about 30% lower to be competitive with the other good breakfast restaurants.

Overall, I don’t hate this place. There are things I like. However, everytime I visit, I immediately remember why I haven’t come here in awhile. It’s always a disappointment, especially with the dirty tables.

Not bad.
Not from around here and the menu sounded promising.
Got the Prosciutto Sandwich tasted okay, chicken was extremely dry.
Also got the Vanilla Chai Waffles, just tasted like eggo waffles. Very soggy.
I know I did take out and the integrity would be slightly compromised but I had the food no more than 5 minutes in the container.
Service is fine.
Coffee is pretty bad, got chai latte, tasted like steamed milk with a dash of cinnamon.
London fog was fine.
Won’t be coming back especially at the price point for the quality of food.
At least they’re inclusive for vegans and gluten intolerante folks.

Drip cafe is my new go to spot for breakfast in Delaware. Their coffee is out of this world, and I definitely recommend their apple cider hot tea as well ! The caramel apple pancakes are delicious along with their buttermilk waffle. The service was on point and super polite. Great experience overall.

Always a pleaser for our family. My wife and I love the coffee and plentiful options for breakfast, our kids love the booths and pastries. Bacon is great extra crispy! We never have had a bad meal or bad service. Have sometimes come weekend after weekend other times just a pop in. Been a regular for years and although it can be crowded on weekends we always find seating and enjoy

Drip Cafe in Hockessin is one of our favorite local spots! The deliciously fresh food and wide range of beverages never disappoint, complemented by top-notch service and a welcoming atmosphere. We are over the moon to be living less than 10 minutes away, but would make the trip regardless.
