We decided on a night of Ramen and happened upon this place. The staff are friendly, fast, and the food was good. I would add spice to my black ramen next time and my husband would cut the corn out on his ramen next time. My son who loves it plain said it was the best bowl he’s had in San Antonio so far. We’ll be back per his request.

Ramen is absolutely delicious and authentic. Fast and friendly service and great atmosphere. This is our new favorite ramen spot! The Tsukemen ramen is a ramen you dip into a sauce instead of having it in soup. One of the best Tsukemen ive had!

Hoka is a warm and inviting spot with
delicious food and delightful service.
We started with the goma Q, then enjoyed the chashu dom rice bowl, and the katsu chicken.
Every last bite was amazing. The seasoning, the freshness of the cucumber, the perfect fry of the katsu… chef’s kiss.
I highly recommend this gem!…Cheers!

My daughter and I ate here on 12/13 for lunch. She got the Shiro fuku and I got the Kuro fuku. Her dish was spicy and she loved it. My dish was great. We order ed pork buns and Kani fries as our appetizers. We will be back soon

Let’s go eat some RAMEN! It’s one of many favorite dishes. We were greeted entering the restaurant and immediately felt like we were out of town. The tables and chairs are one of a kind. I ordered the Kuro Fuku ramen. It was tasty. Eating it had the feeling of warm comfort food. My wife had the Tori Katsu. She was impressed. The tray had variety of different flavors. You can’t go wrong with that tray. My son had the Chicken Teriyaki rice bowl. He loves it as well. I’m not a picky eater so, I loved it. We all enjoyed the meals.

The place is super nice. The air was a little bit humid. The kitchen is about a quarter size of the restaurant. The restrooms need to be a little bigger. The men’s restroom has only one toilet. It would be nice if there were two toilets. I know were there to eat, but when you have to go, you have to go! Our waitress was nice. She explained everything on our katsu tray. We had a good time. We’ll be back to try different dishes.

My boyfriend and I order takeout from here regularly, and have dined in twice. Whether we are eating at the restaurant or taking our food home, everything about the dining experience is wonderful. The food is flavorful and comes in generous portions, and I love that the food is light yet filling. I’m so glad we finally have a good Japanese restaurant in our area and am already looking forward to eating here again soon.

Service was great, but the ramen didn’t quite stand out compared to other spots in town. Also worth noting there’s a service charge on top of the tip!

My kids are big Ramen fans — personally, I’d never had authentic ramen until I tried it here (only ever had stuff made at home). We got tokoyaki for the appetizer and it was good! I got Shiro Fuku (white broth) and the flavor was good — my only complaint was that it came out just barely above lukewarm. Everything was cooked fine, just wish it had been served hotter.

Loved everything! 10/10 recommend – if you get the Katsu, be sure to add the curry. extra flavor explosions! Also, the cheesecake was great. Nice and warm.

The atmosphere and customer service were excellent. The food presentation was good, but the meats and soup had little flavor. After having high hopes and reviewing other reviews before trying it, I was disappointed.

At the end of dinner, we decided to try the Japanese Cotton Cheesecake (one slice) to share. Everyone agreed it was good: not your ordinary cheesecake. It was soft and fluffy, with a bit of cake texture and less sugar. Perfect to pair with a cup of hot coffee or tea. Instead of ordering more, we decided to order a whole cake to go. The meat portion was small, and the flavor was not there; I guess sauces are there if you need to add flavor. If I were to rate food flavor, it would be a 2 for me.
