Arrived just as the doors opened. Friendly greeting and friendly service. Food was awesome. Catfish filets tasted great. Coleslaw and hushpuppies equally good. Wife got a house salad and grilled chicken. Said it was awesome too.

Good food + good people = Good times!
Initially blown away with the decorations, it may be a lot of decorations but not tacky or disgusting, it is like eating at a extreme outdoorsman house. The staff is super friendly and the menu is a combination of soul food and comfort food. This is a wonderful place to take your family after a ball game, Church events, casual night on the town, dates, and gatherings

Was in town on a visit with my father, and he mentioned this place before we left Texas to head to Mississippi. So that Sat. night, we got there a little before they opened, not realizing they didn’t open until 4….but we got in early thankfully.
As far as the interior goes, don’t expect anything grand or fancy…it’s a hole in the wall kind of place. But apparently it is a GREAT hole in the wall. We got seated and our waitress came over immediately. Got the “never ending hush puppy” basket…which I didn’t know was a thing, and WOW! These were GREAT hush puppies! And that cheese sauce….never heard of that being done before, but I loved it!
I also decided to try a southern staple I see on a lot of the cooking shows….Shrimp and grits. Now here is where my own personal experience took a small hit. The shrimp were PERFECT! had great flavor and seasoning, cooked to perfection. But the grits…I have had my share of Cream of Wheat and Quaker instant grits in the past, and I guess that worked against me, because the grits here just tasted and had the texture of quick grits. I don’t know if they were or not…but my mouth just kept saying “Cream of Wheat”…no real flavor to them at all….rather bland. My dad loved his catfish filets, but when I saw them, they looked REALLY small….more like curly fries you would get at Arby’s. But I digress….
Overall, if you want a good diner experience….Boondock Eddie’s fits the bill nicely. The name says everything as well, because there was also apparently zero cell service there. ha ha ha But…if I was in Waynesboro again….I would visit once more. 🙂

(Tried to take out ) I called boon dock eddies 6:38., The lady told me it would be at least 30 minutes for my order ..Got there at seven twenty two. My daughter went in there at least 4 times And they kept telling her that it was not ready. I go in there and ask them why my order’s not ready and they said well, we’re just really busy. I asked them at ten till eight have they even started it yet The girl looks at me nonchalant and says I don’t think so, I said cancel the order. I will never go back…. I’m sure they don’t care!!!

Every. Friday. Night. (Almost every)
Boondocks doesn’t disappoint. You start with a basket of hushpuppies with a cheese dip that has a hint of spice to it and a bowl of coleslaw (or side salad). They usually bring out a small pitcher with your drink so you automatically get a refill. We enjoy the catfish (strips or whole), fries, onion rings (SO good), blackened shrimp, boiled shrimp, steak, sandwiches, and a cup of crawfish julie is the icing on the cake, so to speak.

Food is great, but service is very slow. Our waitress had forgotten about us, brought our food to us which was cold. She took it, microwaved it, and brought it back to us. By that time we wasn’t even hungry anymore.

Use to go here almost every weekend. You always met someone you knew. Very friendly place and good service. They’re pretty busy when they’re open. Sometimes the pieces are a little small. Hushpuppies are overcooked and hard. I can’t eat them. Everything on the menu has gone up two or three times in the last couple of years, so we don’t go much anymore. Use to be able to watch the game on the TV, but they haven’t worked in a year or more. Just not what it use to be.

The blackened redfish was so good. My wife had the crab claws and they were great too. We had a large party and the service was still amazing. I was super impressed with the whole experience. Great food and great service. Definitely a great choice! Thank you Eddie!

I visited this restaurant with my family, most of us was from out of town. We went to celebrate family and birthdays. The owner was loud and rude and told my sister not to return to his restaurant again. My sister ordered the 10 piece shrimp meal and didn’t received her order when everyone got their order. The waitress was very rude, (I wish I would’ve remembered her name.) Later on she brought the wrong order, and argued with my sister and said she ordered that, when she brought the checks out she overcharged my sister because she didn’t ordered that meal. The owner came out and asked what’s the problem. She explained to him what happened, he yelled out, “give me ticket and don’t come back here again.” My sister is 81 years old, needless to say no one is going to talk to her that way. So, my family will never return to this restaurant. He owes her an apology.
