This is the best find for me right near my home! When you step inside it is quite lovely, formal but inviting. I was greeted with a smile and requested a quiet corner seat which was perfect and spaced so I didn’t feel crowded.
The host gave me the menu and water. Plus bread with an unusual dip of parmesan with olive oil hummus style. So good!
The waiter was there with a warm smile introduced himself, Francisco, he was very willing to give me suggestions and answer my questions about the menu items.
I ended up deciding to get the Chef’s choice Pre-Fixe tasting menu.
And then the food just kept coming. The portions were so generous, selections of the best appetizers a stuffed zucchini flower with red sauce and very thinly sliced beef carpaccio with a thin layer of creamy sauce underneath and crunchy roast garlic bits, home made pasta with a beef and mushroom sauce and Parmesan risotto and then a steak medallion topped with two shrimp, asparagus, and a cream sauce as
main course and to finish a light passion fruit cheese cake slice with raspberries for dessert!
A nice couple was seated next to me and told me it’s their third time coming. They ordered a wonderful basket of fried calamari that also includes some veggies! Maureen’s chicken Milanese was the size of the plate with some beautiful greens and Kevin had a plate of pasta with chicken in a cream sauce!
Seems like once you try Piacere Mio it becomes your go to for Italian!
When Chef came by my table and asked how I was doing, I replied, “it’s like I died and went to Heaven” so for sure you need to make this spot, on Madison St in Forest Park, your next dinner out!

Celebrated a family member’s birthday and it was a great experience. The food was delicious, the restaurant was nice, the 50% off bottles of wines on Mondays was a nice suprise, and the restautant was not too loud as it filled up. Special thanks to Carlos who was extremely attentive and accomodating to dietary restrictions at our table! I would definitely come again to try other menu items. My only complaint would be the crème brûlée did not taste like a usual one and I wouldn’t get that again but there are plenty of other dessert options at the restaurant.

It’s rare to have a perfect experience but Piacere is now 2 for 2 on perfect dinners. The staff is excellent, I would equally expect them to be in a five-star restaurant or hotel downtown. The decor in the room is cozy and welcoming with intimate tables and a small dining area which is nice to keep the noise down and the feeling of exclusivity in the restaurant. The food choices are excellent and I love the cocktail menu. So many good things to choose from. They brought us bread with dip and oil which was delicious, a free appetizer with entrees I imagine. Our cocktails and meal were delicious. I had the mushroom risotto which I recommend. From looking around at the dining crowd, I got the impression that almost everyone there was a regular. The chef came out to greet, advise and serve multiple parties here which I thought was a nice touch. Lastly, as a surprise, They brought us panicotti dessert which was free. I didn’t even tell them it was our anniversary but they made it special anyway. Easy five stars from us. Thank you

Delicious Italian food and amazing service! We ate here last night, and sat in the back of the restaurant, which was a lot more quiet and cooler than the front. The restaurant was pretty packed overall, and for good reason. The host was very nice. Our server was very attentive and accommodating, and asked the chef if they could make my dish gluten free because I have celiac disease, and they did. My partner and I loved our dinners. The dessert was to die for! I highly recommend the banana flan with caramel sauce. Overall, it was a great experience.

Everything was outstanding! We started with the mussels and octopus which were both delicious. The gnocchi was soooo good! We also tried the short ribs with saffron risotto which was fantastic. But I highly recommend the tiramisu. Can’t wait to come back!

This place is outstanding! We went here to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary, and it certainly was a great place for a special occasion.
Everything was impressive, from the quality of the food, to the presentation, the service, the romantic background music, and the ambience.

Mauricio, our server, was excellent: very friendly, helpful, attentive and knowledgeable about the wine list too.
We had a bottle of the Cabernet, which was delicious.

We had a dramatic appetizer – the “Torta di Granchio” – which was brought to our table covered under a glass done. When the dome was lifted, a plume of smoke wafted out, filled with the wonderful smell of the smoked crab cake, which was served with avocado aioli, tricolor salad & lemon vinaigrette.
It tasted delicious too!
We also had an appetizer from the Daily Specials Menu: the “Fried Zucchini Blossoms”, which were stuffed with pecorino mousse, served with balsamic and water cress. Very yummy.

We each ordered a different main:
I had the “Fusili Amatriciana con Gamberoni” from the Daily Specials menu. This came with home-made pasta, shrimp, onion, pancetta and a rich and creamy tomato sauce. It was so delicious, I ate the entire plate (unusual for me!) The amount was not overwhelming – there was plenty but not too much!
My husband had the “Fettucini Nero al Frutti di Mare” from the main menu. This came with squid ink fettuccini, shrimp, calamari, mussels, clams and tomato sauce.
My son had the “Brasato di Costine di Manzo” which was braised wagyu beef short ribs over a saffron risotto.
My daughter had the “Trofie al Pesto Genovese” which was short, twisted pasta with chicken, pine nut pesto, pecorino & parmesan sauce.
I had tastes of everyone’s dish and they were all delicious.

We ordered two desserts, and they brought out a third one, on the house, as special gift for our anniversary!
I had the Tiramisu and it was wonderful – just as you would expect a lovely rich classic Tiramisu to be. My daughter had the Creme Brulee – this was good but was not your classic creme brulee, but rather an interpretation of one. It was artfully presented though. My son had the Banana Flan with caramel sauce and he was very happy with it.

They then surprised us with a free dessert – the “Semi al Freddo Alle Mandorie” which was spectacularly presented. They brought it to the table with a small silver jug of hot chocolate sauce, which they lit on fire and then poured over the tall mound of ice-cream, sending up tall blue flames! It tasted pretty good too!

I would highly recommend this place for any special occasion or to impress someone!

Easily one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to visit. The service person was full of good information about the place and we arrived for lunch but were offered the dinner menu as well. The medallions of beef filet were served perfectly cooked on a bed of homemade mashed potatoes sitting on a rich, dark, delicious sauce. The asparagus with asparagus was okay. I mean, what can you do to asparagus? The tuna that was seared was absolutely fabulous. And both of the pastas were homemade and the sauces were luscious and the service again was great. They give you four starters, a little bucket of focaccia and some homemade chickpea hummus. It’s not really hummus, but that’s what they called it so we would know what it was. It was very good. It was an amusement, I guess you would call it. The beet salad was unusual because the beets were sliced so thin and very sweet because they were oven roasted and the goat cheese ball was coated with panko crumbs and deep fried for less than thirty seconds. I had mentioned that it was going to be our birthday celebrations for myself and my daughter-in-law and as the meal ended we were waiting for the dessert menu but instead the The server who I think really was a co-owner, brought us some delicious desserts with a little candle on each one. One of them was a creme brulee which looked nothing like your normal creme brulee and I would suggest that if you go there, you try this and a banana type flan which I can’t describe other than it was light as a feather and slightly banana flavor. The plate was also covered with a bridge type saws that you may have been butterscotch and blueberries.

Came here with my family, I love authentic Italian food and this spot was perfect. A lot of options to choose from and all of them sound so good on the menu. Their pasta is so good. Will definitely try something else next time. Their desserts were amazing as well. Definitely recommend this place!

This is hands down the best experience in the Chicago area. It’s not just about the food or the ambiance—it’s the whole package. Chef Jose delivers an exceptional culinary experience, while Paco’s kindness and professionalism at the table make you feel like you’ve found your Italian home in Chicago. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. Cheers!
