Service was very attentive and efficient.
They have a great cocktail menu. I ordered the Mango Tango- redemption bourbon, mango, lime, and bitters. I liked how the mango was muddled in the bottom of the glass. Great drink.
No vegan salad options but I modified the Burrata Salad and it was very good. Grilled local eggplant, capers, walnuts, local greens and a strawberry balsamic glaze. Obviously omitted the burrata to make it vegan.
I ate here on Sushi Sunday which appears to be very popular.
I had a very good roll- it was the September’s Goblin Roll- teriyaki mushroom, pickled carrot, daikon napa, sesame, chef’s sauce. It was very good and had excellent flavor.
I verfied with my server that the chef’s sauce was vegan and the chef/owner came out to tell me that it was. I appreciated that level of care/detail.
I got a pizza to bring back to my hotel and it was really good. No vegan cheese options so I modifed the seasonal vegetable pizza and I enjoyed it.
We were there on a Friday night around 6 pm. Our food was delivered in shifts for a table of eight.
The bartender was very personable and attentive, so THANK YOU. We enjoyed everything about this place. Will definitely be back when we’re out west again!
Though it was later in the evening and the restaurant was full, we were seated promptly, and our server was fantastic—so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The drink menu was impressive, especially the unique wine selections. We started with a bottle of Chardonnay, and for food, we shared a seasonal golden beet salad that was simple yet perfectly balanced. Watching our pizza being prepared in the open kitchen was a treat! We chose the pumpkin and goat cheese pizza, and the wood-fired crust was just right.
The highlight for me was the seafood pasta. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the seafood tasted fresh with a sauce that brought all the flavors together beautifully. Though we were too full for dessert, I have no doubt it would have been excellent. Highly recommend visiting Popolo if you’re in or near Mineral Point—it’s one of the area’s best dining experiences!
