Updated Review: Even after moving out of the area I enjoy coming here when I come for visits. Food is still great and I like the vibe here.
First Review: I always love coming to this place. The atmosphere is nice and the food is good. Not to mention the employees are very respectful and take care of their customers. Place is clean as well. They also have a separate bar area.

Worst place in all of Newman. Double check your tab before you pay. Ordered an Asada Burrito and meat was extremely dry and bland. No flavor at all. Ask the lady for lime and she said it’s $1 per SLICE of lime. Menu states the burrito comes with Guacamole and there was no guacamole in it. Lady said prices on everything have gone up so it’d be extra. Why list on the Ingredients and if it’s not going to come with it? I said no big deal and asked for Salsa for the burrito and lady said it’s an additional $2!! I mean, what place doesn’t give you salsa and lime for you tacos/burritos? They all do. Burrito was FULL OF RICE AND BARELY ANY MEAT. Save your time and money and go to Taqueria Carolina next to them, Dos aguas across the street, or Taqueria Manzanillo around the corner. Way Way better food and no hidden charges.

Got a burrito, tortilla wasn’t heat up at all, cold and made my burrito sloppy. Took two bites and couldn’t enjoy it, just to get sick an hour later and have it come back up, both myself and my grandmother. Do not eat here for your health. It’s a fast way to food poisoning.

It’s confusing on where to go when you enter, we waited a bit before walking into the dinning section. No signage as to seat yourself or wait to be seated. Ordered a Long Island ice tea and it was basically water and tequila, no gin, no coke, no rum, no vodka no garnish. Had to walk down the street to The Old Corner Bar for a real drink. No bartender working the bar.
The food tasted like fast food, and frozen.
The nachos were okay, not great. Asked for no jalapeños and they still added them. Then took it off and brought it back but missed some.
Our waitress was the only nice thing there , but she didn’t know the menu. We were
very disappointed.
It’s sad as it has potential, get a good bartender, decorate the back space with fire pits and stage for music, add succulent plants, lanterns and Mexican art. The back yard could be great.
Add some booths to the interior, nicer art, sound baffles to absorb sound.
The place is loud.

Ordered enchiladas from here and that will be my last time! Chicken was rubbery and tasted and looked old.. and the avocados were also old and were browning.. you can tell they have been having them out for a long time. Definitely don’t recommend this place at all.. staff will also have you just standing there instead of helping you. Was standing there for probably 10 minutes before someone decided to help me out when I picked up my order. Bad service and bad food.. definitely won’t be coming back.

I don’t know what’s going on with this restaurant. It used to be really good as far as the service. I’m disabled and I would always order for delivery well I had Called them to place order for a delivery and the lady who answers the phone hung up on me and then when I called back I asked her if they were delivering now she proceeded to yell at me .

Located in downtown Newman, Calif. Dined there because it was reviewed as 5 star. Basic old building, clean. Bar side had several big screen TVS with baseball on. Patrons quietly sipping beer, etc. Dining side spacious with 2 big screen TVs with Country music videos on. Thought country music was very out of place. At least it was not blaring. I like country but not in a Mexican place. Fajitas hot and sizzling. Very yummy. My husband’s toastada salad plain and basic. We like to motorcycle to small towns and eat where the locals go. Not sure this was it. Choices were few for Newman.

We waited for over an hr for our food. The chips were burnt. They weren’t even that busy. The waitresses were friendly so it wasn’t the service that was the problem. The waitress apologized about forgetting one of our items because it was in the microwave and the kitchen forgot about it.

The food is good, but its annoying they dont really answer the phone for pick up orders. Happened last time I was sick and again today. Ive been trying to call for the past hour and nothing. I KNOW they are open.
