Scotch Bonnet is my go-to spot whenever I’m in the mood for Caribbean food. The food is consistently excellent—full of authentic flavor, well-prepared, and always satisfying. The service matches the quality of the food: fast, friendly, and professional.

A special shoutout to Ingrid, the young lady who works out front. She truly makes the experience even more enjoyable. Her friendly chats, warm personality, and helpful menu suggestions always make it a pleasure to visit. Conversations with her are genuine, welcoming, and add a personal touch that keeps me coming back.

Great food, great service, and great people—Scotch Bonnet never disappoints.

Best Jamaican food I ever had and I’ve had a lot!

The place was super clean and the young lady helping us was SUPER friendly which made the experience even better. I hate to say this, many establishments act as if you owe them something or you’re bothering them. Not this place, the whole experience was great from the time I entered to the time I left.

The only reason I spent a lot is because we never been and wanted to try a few things. The prices were in the normal range as other places, maybe a few dollars more but it was worth it.

In the photo is a beef patty, stew beef, stew chicken and oxtail. The crust of the patty was perfectly balanced with that nice soft crisp when biting into a pastry. Best beef patty I ever had.

I’m so glad I researched a new spot to try. I will be returning often. For those that like lighthouse in the area, FORGET IT! If you want 5 star food and service go here.

I visit this store particularly for beef patty. The taste is awesome and has remained consistent over the years. I decided to try rice and peas and oxtail. First of all, $32 for a large plate seemed steep to me then to add insult to injury, the portion was little and the meat was hard. The taste was ok. I will continue to patronize this store for beef patty ONLY.

We had our take-out from The Scotch Bonnet Kitchen last night. It was our fist experience with this research, and it is difficult to leave a review after sampling one dish only.
But our oxtail stew was very good. Even though it was priced somewhat higher than what offer other area’s Jamaican and Creole restaurants, the overall impression was good. The trick with oxtail is the proportion of meat vs side dishes. The Scotch Bonnet Kitchen gives you quite a lot of meat. The choice of sides is very good too. The food preparation is delicious. Even though the restaurant is located some distance from us (Ewing to Mercerville), the food arrived hot and securely packaged, no spills.
We will definitely order from The Scotch Bonnet Kitchen again.

I placed a delivery order so I cannot speak about the service or the atmosphere. The food was delicious though! The oxtails were very tender and well seasoned. The cabbage was also good and there was enough in the small portion for two meals. I will definitely order again!

The prices are reasonable and the food was good! The only thing I didn’t like was the stems in the Callallo, they weren’t soft enough or too many. I’ll get cabbage next time. A friend referred me to this place for Ackee and Saltfish. I told him my favorite restaurant closed permanently after Covid. I don’t play when it comes to my Ackee/Saltfish and Callallo. I’m picky when it comes to food I’m used to. I was afraid to try other places because they don’t cook it right. Some places leave the bones in the Saltfish or stems in the Callallo.
It was a good experience, I’ll continue to come back for the Ackee/Saltfish.

I wish I didnt have to do this but Ive been eating here for a while. Usually good service and decent food.. I really only go for the Banana Pudding thats catered there… Yesterday I found a nail in my cabbage, as I took a spoonful of it… complete and utter disgust immediately after i spit it out… I went back to the store to show them, and to ask for my money back. Now in that moment , I wasn’t trying to make a scene because they had customers actively coming in. I pulled the lady to the side that does the register and explained to her what I found. She immediately laughed in my face and denied it. The cooks from the back came out ina very hostile way and told me no one wears nails there. Now granted , WHOEVER WASHED THE CABBAGE that weekend or week easily couldve lost a disgusting nail, and its the same color as the cabbage!!! No refund was offered not even a partial one, they were sooooo rude to me!! Even AFTER I tried to not a make a scene.
