This was undoubtedly one of the worst service experiences we’ve ever had. Our waitress was completely disinterested and out of touch with us.
We arrived at the restaurant at 6:30 pm on a Tuesday night, and we were seated at a booth for four. The restaurant was not busy at all, so we were immediately seated. The menu was placed on the table, looking like a place mat. As we were reading the menu, our waitress came over and asked if we were ready to order. I explained that it was my first time at the restaurant, and the menu was quite large.
She simply turned around and left.
A few minutes later, she returned to take our order. We had not seen her again for at least 30 minutes. By then, we had finished all of our dishes, and she never came back to check on us, even though she had been passing our table multiple times.
After finishing our meal, we wanted to try dessert. We waited for a while, but no service was provided. I had ordered green tea, and when I finished it, I wanted to order more, but she never returned to our table. We got our dessert order by flagging her to bring back the menu, which she seemed to wonder why… like we were supposed to memorize. I know there were only three options, but we couldn’t remember them at all.
Our waitress made us feel like we were holding her back and being a burden.
The food was good, but the service was terrible.
*******The hostess and the other staff members brought us water and cleaned some of the dishes by the time she asked if we needed anything. We were then helped by someone else. Even the check was brought by someone else.
Needless to say we were not able to tip her as we normally would have. Once she dropped off our card, we wanted to give her some feedback, but she turned around as quickly as she had throughout our entire dining experience.

The food here is absolutely delicious—every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the start. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a nice meal out. Highly recommend!

The ambience was spot on as was the internal decor. The sushis (Akira and King Dragon Rolls) were absolutely on point. Loved their Karage (they were sooooo tender)! The Takoyaki was to die for, maybe the standout of them all. I am big fan of their bento boxes as well, and have tried both the katsu as well as the shrimp teraiyaki, and both were awesome.
However, the Karage Ramen was nothing extraordinary and was on the blander size. I would definitely suggest to stick to their Sushi and apetizer options.
The desserts were decent, and would recommend their yuzu cheesecake.
Overall, this is our 2nd visit here, and will definitely come back when we are craving for sushi!

So tasty! I was SO worried since during an earlier trip to the DMV, I went to a very popular restaurant that couldn’t accommodate my shellfish allergy. Here at Akira the server was so so sweet and so accommodating. The ramen was lovely, though they did give us an incorrect roll but were very quick to fix it! We didn’t get our miso soup that came with our two rolls and the mochi ice cream was a bit freezer burned. All in all though the place was gorgeous, the ramen was tasty, and my allergy was taken seriously. Thank you ❤️ You made our date night special!

This is my second time at this restaurant. Both times were amazing. Food comes out quick! Although I’m giving 5 stars, there is something that I noticed both times here. After we placed our order another server comes to ask if we’re ready to order. And the first time they tried to place another tables food with my table. It’s an easy fix. My suggestion is that the servers need to take their time. It’s a restaurant, not fast food. Take your time and make sure you’re in the right spot. But other than that I have no complaints. Everyone is kind, polite, and the food is so great!! I’ll be back again.
