Take the backroads
Hidden gem – I was excited to see salmon patties on the menu. So our friends and I travelled down 31 to give it a try.
We all tried a different side. I had the greens & pinto beans. I would recommend. (Way better than the rocking chair restaurant).
They also have sandwiches and desserts to offer.
Friendly service. Quaint country store.

After a long day of kayaking on the Green River, we stopped by Green River Hill Grocery. We saw it on the way to Lynn Camp Launch, and we figured it would be fun to try something local.
As we walked in, we were immediately greeted by one of the owners, Rachelle. She was warm and friendly, and she told us all about their daily menu items, fresh baked goods, and homemade ice cream.
We ordered some lasagna, broccoli salad, and some treats. Tim had the chocolate cake, Scarlett wanted mango ice cream, and Anna had a blackberry cupcake. I nibbled off everyone’s goodies.
GHRG is a roadside market that offers items to go or you can eat your food at one of their tables. It’s a quaint market that brings you back in time. The side room feels like you’re enjoying a meal at Grandma’s house, and all of the food is made with love. So you definitely feel like family when visiting.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Green River Hill Grocery is a true hidden gem! Their roast beef Manhattan is absolutely delicious – tender roast beef, rich flavorful gravy, and perfectly cooked potatoes, and the pinto beans and cornbread, taste just like grandmas. ️
And …not to mention you can wash it all down with an ice cold Ski
The portion sizes are beyond generous, so you definitely leave full and happy.
What really sets this place apart, though, is the warm hospitality of the owners Tony and Rachelle Wright, They treat you like family from the moment you walk in, making your visit feel welcoming and special. If you’re looking for a hearty meal served with genuine kindness, Green River Hill Grocery is the place to go!

Blink and you’ll miss it. Never knew this place existed till today. Gf and I stopped in because she said she wanted to try it. Menu changes on the daily, it’s great to have a few things to choose from instead of looking at a hundred things on the menu trying to decide. We both got the exact same thing, best Manhattan I’ve had in a very long time and made correctly (I didnt have my phone so I used the same picture in this review as she did in hers). Pinto beans and cornbread was to die for, definitely could eat those on the daily. A lot of food at a good price. The owners are very nice and attentive. The atmosphere is county cozy, almost feels like home. Hope to be coming here for years to come.

Super kind people! More businesses should be run with this kind of service and the willingness to love what they do. Very small town oriented but that is the charm of the place. If we go kayaking around there, we will definitely stop in again, simply just to get a drink and say hello, thank you for being so kind and friendly : )
