My experience at Legacy Coffee was so divine and I’m looking forward to my future visits! I saw the shop when I went to the Ortho and looked up the reviews to see how it was. I am never drawn to subjective reviews about how something tastes or how much it costs, mainly because the prices are clear and visible to all and taste buds are in the mouths of the beholder.

I was very impressed about the feedback on the staff, the owner, the ambience and overall welcoming feel that people say they have. The majority of reviews I saw were complaining about high prices, to which I’ll say, the prices were known up front and people could have chosen to go somewhere cheaper. Other big chains or even smaller coffee shops might have lower prices and some of them may even have great food and services, but when the price is “the issue”, it says more about the customers desires than the actual business……respectfully!

What I was REALLY impressed with was the owner’s responses to people, as she thanked them for their business and exuded pride and confidence in knowing that her store is not for everyone and that’s okay, but she is passionate and believes in providing the best quality so the price is the price. To me, if a business owner is only or mostly in it for the money and THAT’s their foundation, it’s gonna crack and the quality may not be as good. However, it’s so clear to see that while money is important logistically, the passion and love for food and connection with people is the foundation.

When I saw that, I was sold!! So we went in and absolutely everyone that worked there smiled, waved or spoke to us. We had a great conversation with the owner and she shared the back story behind some of her favorite menu items and I just loved that moment.

It felt like she invited us over for breakfast and coffee and made us feel at home and very loved. That is what I look for when I go to restaurants, for people to show passion for what they do, whether it’s the owner or another employee. Seeing her and everyone else engage with people with such joy, positivity and purpose, made me feel that the quality deep behind the scenes was top tier.

As a customer, it makes me want to support and protect the culture that she shares with a similar level of pride and appreciation. This is hands down THE BEST coffee shop I’ve been to in Washington and I’ll even say the U.S. as a whole! We went to Costa Rica a few years ago and had a similar experience at a coffee shop, so she does have competition out there as far as my ratings are concerned but in the US alone…..she is the bar right now for me!

As I enjoyed the meal, I thought about the background she shared and sipped my coffee slow and ate my sandwich as if I was a part of the story and I wanted to experience it too. I wanted to feel the depths of why the ingredients were hand crafted and smiled as I felt the love from the people that prepared it.

I WILL be back….maybe tomorrow ( ), but this will absolutely be in our rhythm of “restaurant families” to visit on a frequent basis. Thank you for the experience. Thank you for taking the time to share your story. Thank you for being purposeful with your passion and thank you for inspiring me to keep my foot on the gas for mine! ❤️

This is my new favorite place. The signature Coffee’s are different and are amazing. I got a honeycomb coffee and it was amazing.

The coffees are not too sweet which is great. They have selection of some goods and an amazing vibe to just hangout.

Don’t go here if you want food and aren’t ready to wait for a long while (>20 mins).

Stopped by here for a To-go order and took an extremely long time to get my sandwhich. Im usually a pretty patient person, but the time it took made me worried my order had been lost. I will say, other than the time, the customer service is really friendly and responsive, the food was really good, and the coffee was pretty good. I did get a hazelnut drink but didnt realize there would be a ton of hazelnut bits in it lol my fault though.

So if you dont mind waiting a good while (i was done with my coffee before getting food) then its pretty good. Prices are definitely high, $36 for basic sandwhich and 16 oz latte, but even so its really good.

This place exceeded all expectations! I got the gluten free Honey Almond Cake and the Demon Hunter ube latte. Both items were SOOOOO yummy. I especially loved the ube latte, it was purple with purple sprinkles and tiny silver stars. The latte art was incredible. CUTE and so tasty!
The dining area was large and great for catching up with an old friend.
I seriously appreciated the multiple gluten free pastries!!
I will be back!!!

Awesome hangout. Korean-inspired food. Think hot chili oil, so beware. I loved it, though. The food is next level! The pecan bar was delicious. Worth the visit.

Legacy Coffee was a wonderful find! Even though the parking lot was overflowing on a midweek morning around 9 a.m., the line moved quickly and efficiently. We ordered a variety to get a true feel for the place, including the Korean egg dish (fluffy like a cloud!), the cheddar date biscuit (to die for!), and a selection of cookies and bars. Everything was absolutely delightful and tasted homemade, with thoughtful flavor combinations that really stood out.

The cafe itself has a modern, bright vibe—such a refreshing contrast to the typically darker, moodier coffee house feel. Service was incredibly friendly, and the staff genuinely seemed excited to offer suggestions and make our first visit a great experience. Plus, the availability of gluten-free options is a bonus!

Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area—and be sure to order some extra treats to go!

Always love coming to this place for either hang outs with my friends or quiet working time. Love the variety and deliciousness of foods. It is very beautiful, makes me want to dress up and dive into the special atmosphere. It also makes me think I’m in London for a bit, cause of the red telephone cubby right by it. 🙂 Awesome place!

The coffee here is so good! The service is always great, and they have a nice variety of pastries to choose from. I love being able to support a local coffee shop instead of the big chains, and this place really delivers. It’s close to my office, so I stop by whenever I can — whether it’s for a quick coffee run, meeting up with friends, or even holding a casual meeting. Such a great place!
