Super cheap and completely delicious! Got a bento box and a beer for under $20! Charlie was super friendly and got my food out fast. There were only a few other people in the joint when I went in on a Wednesday around noon.

First off, the owner and his wife are the most adorable couple ever. If you want an authentic sushi experience this is it! We got the “trust me” and i couldn’t have been happier! The perfect portion size and the sake that they suggest was smooth and delicious.

Best sushi place in town! Charlie, the owner drives over to Seattle every Wednesday to hand-pick fresh and live fish to craft the best authentic sushi. He personally came to our table to describe each of the fish, their flavor and their origins. Love this place!

I have always had a good experience here, it could be slammed or empty. depends on when you go. Staff has always been great. If you’re eating sashimi you can run up a hefty tab. If you stick to rolls and menu items easier on a budget. Great sake selection also can be dangerous. If you’re on a budget. Food has always been good although I have tried a roll or two, I didn’t care for, but that is more of personal preference and could be said about most sushi places I have eaten at.

Easily the best sushi place in Spokane. Charlie is unmatched is his sushi preperation skills and the fact he personally drives to Seattle every week to select the best/freshest fish shows once you taste it. Can’t recommend enough!

Very sketchy place, came in with my friend and we were the only ones there. There was one employee who was nice but the sushi was just not the quality that I expect. I definitely didn’t forget to pray before I ate this sushi! It tasted like store sushi and was not fresh. The crunchy roll came cold where it is usually supposed to be warm. Califonia roll also was no good. Never coming back, after I left I just wanted to have some real sushi.

I used to love this restaurant. It’s five minutes from my house and the vegetable sushi is excellent. My problem here is that, while I have had good experiences in the past, Tonight I was yelled at and treated horribly. I was served some wine that tasted just a little off. When I asked the man who runs the restaurant about the wine, he became extremely aggressive immediately. He said that I had drank too much of it – I’d had two sips of a small pour – and I would get this no more wine, he shook his hands towards my face, saying “No alcohol for you!” It was crazy! I never even finished single sentence except for my very first one, when I asked him when the bottle had been opened. Every time I tried to talk to him, he would just say “no!”! It was one of the most bizarre experiences I think I have ever had in a restaurant! I paid for my seaweed salad and left. I’ll never return, all I did was ask a simple question about when the wine it been opened.

This is hands down the best sushi resteraunt in Spokane. Charlie the sushi chef picks his own fresh fish in Seattle and trucks them back himself. THAT is attention to detail. When you go there, just have him make you rolls. Don’t even stress over the menu. And get some hot tea. It’s the business.

The facility is pretty gross when you walk in. I looked past that and the cat/fish smell throughout the building. Unfortunately, the chicken I received had that rubbery just been frozen, cooked to fast quality to it. The sushi wasn’t bad and my co-worker said the steak was pretty good.

DO NOT ORDER THE “TRUST ME” SPECIAL.
So disappointed. We were looking forward to a good meal, but $80 later, we left still hungry and feeling taken advantage of. The moment we walked in the door, the owner bombarded us with a speech about how we should trust him (which should have made us immediately suspicious), and informed us that everyone (including us) just wants these specific same things: “they get them every time and never change !” We didn’t want the things he was clearly trying to convince us to get, but he just kept on and on about trusting him, gesturing to decades-old photos of people as if to imply that THESE people trusted him, so we should feel guilty for not doing the same.
He didn’t offer us a menu, though there’s clearly a large menu of Korean and Japanese dishes on the website. When we tried to order rolls, he literally pulled the pen out of my husband’s hand to scratch off a roll he’d ordered. We didn’t NEED spicy tuna, he said, because we were (stupidly) getting the Trust Me special. I took that to mean there was already a spicy tuna roll on the special. Nope. I guess a spicy tuna roll would have been too much work?
The “Trust me” special is two average quality sushi rolls and a bunch of nigiri to drive the price up. The price on the sign is for ONE person, apparently, because ours was double that, even though there wasn’t enough food to remotely fill either of us. He made a big deal about how his (mediocre) miso soup is free. So… just like every other sushi place in the universe, then?
According to other reviews, if you try to order what you actually want, or disagree with the owner, you get yelled at, so there’s no point in taking the risk of going back. We’ve had great sushi before. This was not it. The quality was not even remotely worth the experience. Never again.
