Big Tasty’s is a family owned and operated 50’s diner in the heart of Okeechobee. We offer lunch and dinner. All of our food is freshly made by us. We offer a wide variety of hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, and our famous hand breaded fried green tomatoes. Friday nights we have a special dinner menu! We also proudly serve Hershey’s ice cream which you can get as a milkshake, malt, sundae, banana split, or a scoop!

Really fun place to eat, drink and relax. This is how drugstore cafe’s were back in the day. Highly recommend there fresh squeezed lemonade that you can have flavored. We did the strawberry which was wonderful although they have several other flavors available. It was a great experience and the staff was down home friendly.

Stopped in for lunch on way from Ft Myers’s to Melbourne. Cool little diner with very friendly staff. Ordered The Big Tasty based on server’s recommendation and wife for the BLT with Fried Green Tomato. The Big Tasty was delicious and burger cooked perfectly. The BLT was very good too. Coleslaw was fresh… the fries were the only downside as portion was small and almost felt like last of a batch. Overall great lunch.

My family always stops here when passing through! The burgers are always fresh, moist, and bursting with flavor, and the fries and onion rings arrive piping hot and perfectly crispy. The shakes? Thick, sweet, and downright addictive.

First time eating here**. Workers/owner are very hospitable and make you feel at home. Food is very tasty and portions are perfect size. I got the Brahman burger (medium rare) with a side of fries. Burger was made perfectly, and fries were super crispy and perfectly salted.

Cute old fashioned soda fountain decor. Good food but a little small serving on Philly chicken sub, but excellent sandwich. Awesome onion rings. FANTASTIC fried green tomatoe BLT ! Can’t wait to try fresh made chocolate peanut butter shake. Oh my * That is the best milkshake I’ve had in a long time.

Once a month I make the two hour drive into Okeechobee to pick up a load of feed. I try to patronize a f different restaurant each time.
This month, I chose Big Tasty’s.
I ordered the Iced Tea with a steak and cheese minus the onions and peppers and a side of fries.
The bread was fresh, the fries were perfect, the steak and cheese was good but the amount of meat on the sandwich was pretty disappointing.
The restaurant is very charming with a 50’s theme for decor.
Easy parking and plenty of space.
Our server was Robin and she was amazing.

Adored this cute diner! Perfect decor & food to match. Enjoyed two different burgers that was very enjoyable, classic cut fries matched the theme. Each burger was made to order & didn’t have to wait long at all. Would be excited to come back again & try more!!
