I was excited to get a new Chinese restaurant in town, but if you are expecting a fancy dine-in experience this is not the place for you. Fast service, to-go containers for dine-in (which was fine as I was expecting it) fast food speed without the food feeling like that of a chain fast food restaurant.
I ordered the vegetable lo mein, and an egg roll, my boyfriend ordered beef broccoli and an egg roll and we shared an order of crab Rangoon. Everything was hot, egg rolls and crab Rangoon were perfectly crispy. Lo mein was good, maybe could have used a bit more seasoning, but would definitely order again. Egg roll was alright, but I’m pretty judgmental about them as I prefer fried spring rolls. Crab Rangoon was the sweeter variety and was hot and crispy, perfectly cooked! Sodas are not fountain sodas, they are bottles of sodas from a cooler. Also not necessarily a bad thing, just don’t expect a fountain soda even for dine-in.
If you are expecting Peking Palace you will be disappointed, but if you want hot fast Chinese on the go this place is perfect!
Inside, it’s bright, immaculately clean, and well-kept. The menu is easily visible, shown on tv’s on the wall behind the counter where you order. There are tables and chairs if you want to dine in.
Our first visit, I ordered a lunch portion of beef and broccoli with white rice and an egg roll. Many times I visit other restaurants, the beef tends to be chewy or dried out. This was not the case here as it was nice and tender. However, I do think that it needed seasoning as the dish was very bland. However the egg roll was fantastic (both times)!
The second time, we ordered a general tso’s and a beef & broccoli. However, once I made it home, I realized that the order was incorrect and we received two general tso’s on accident. I was alright with it, though there was zero spice to it like stated on the menu and was more sweet if anything, similar to sweet & sour chicken.
We will definitely be back to try again. I’m grateful to have another restaurant in town.
