At our Millington, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I bought a dinner to go last weekend and it was so good. The employees were very nice and the food was great. (only one time have I eaten there and didn’t like it bc the fish was so greasy. I could have asked for a refund but would’ve had to drive all the way back) it’s always clean in there and the condiments/napkins are always stocked well.

Kitchen lady wearing a black shirt had o e hand with her phone in hand video chatting it was and no glove on that hand. They where busy. I quietly told the cashier that was running the drive through and the front cash register as well i mention to her very nicely if she would get off that orders would come out faster after j had waited way to long. She did take the phone and put on shelf in front of her but never put a glove on. Im sure she takes her phone wherever she goes even the bathroom. I know she knows better. Not good at all.

The cook does not care about presentation. I was giving some fish with black specs in the batter and he had the nerve to act like I was going to eat it. I didn’t get a picture because I immediately gave it back and ask what is in the batter. No apology or anything. These folks working on these jobs need to have a better attitude and take pride in what they do .

The food wasn’t bad but wasn’t great. I ate there a couple of times the week that I was out there and noticed how filthy the floor and prep area was. Came back a day or two later and the mess was the same. It doesn’t look like it had been cleaned and was actually pretty nasty looking. I left that off this review until you requested for me to edit my review. If I’m out that way again maybe I can add some photos.

The service was good and restaurant appeared clean on the outside as I went through the drive thru. I went at dinner time. The food on the other hand was not properly prepared. I got a chicken & fish meal. The chicken strips were almost as tiny as nuggets and the fish was not properly cooked . The fish was pink down in the middle. The side of fries portion looked like that of a kids meal portion. I didn’t notice my food until I got home. I called the restaurant and the manager agreed to have the staff remake my plate when I visited again.
I visited the next day for lunch and the 2nd plate was identical to the 1st one. Small chicken strips, small portion of fries, and the fish appeared to not be properly cooked/ pink inside.

Besides the food being good!
As I pulled up to the drive-thru with my 4 year old son unfortunately having one of his episodes. Parents of kids in the spectrum, understand. It was refreshing when the gentleman simply ask me “Are you ok” Much appreciated

I went to lunch at Captain D’s today in Millington, TN and did notice the fish had changed. A noticeable change for the worse. So, I went home and Googled the question and Yes, the fish at Captain D’s has changed to Swai an Asian species of catfish raised in not so healthy waters and ponds. Cheap quality is NOT better. You have just lost a life long customer. Sad.

Went through the drive thru today, the cashier was nasty towards me when I asked for the total at the window she blurted out “I need the coupon first”, however I won’t be visiting this location again!
