I just had my birthday dinner here & it was fabulous! The owner served us & she was incredibly nice. It’s a cute, cozy, inconspicuous place that I’ve driven by a million times & never knew it was there. They have, by far, the best Ethiopian food I’ve ever had in Denver metro. We got a platter w/ beef tibs & all kinds of veggies. The beef was spectacular! It was seasoned perfectly & melted in my mouth. I’d go back just for that. The veggies were great too. She was very accommodating for anything we asked for. And at the end she surprised me w/ a candle & ice cream. That was very kind. I highly recommend it!

Mama Africa exceeded all expectations. From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional—our waiter was not only prompt and attentive, but also had a calming presence that made the experience feel almost spa-like.
The food came out surprisingly fast, and they were happy to accommodate a lamb substitution in the veggie/meat combo for two, which we really appreciated. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully prepared. The honey wine was served in a charming little potion-style flask—a fun touch—and the chai latte was both delicious and generously sized.
The ambiance was relaxed and intimate, with table dividers that added a nice sense of privacy. This was easily a 5-star experience from start to finish. Can’t wait to come back.

Seriously some of the best service I’ve had in a long time, our server was very excited to show us his favourite dishes. He also spent the time to educate us the different dishes available. The food was pretty alright, I’d certainly try more dishes soon! Also the honey wine was exceptional.

We had lunch today and it was absolutely fabulous.Every dish was perfect. We shared the veggie combo and Doro Wot. The flavors were amazing, just the right amount of spices and oil. The chicken’s red sauce had a divine sweet, smoke essence. And the Injera (Tef bread) is homemade in house. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and the service was excellent. We also tried the Ethiopian coffee. They start with green coffee beans and roast just enough for your individual pot. Amazing… Overall it was quite an education in Ethiopian cuisine and a most gracious dining experience. It is an absolute must for everyone looking for an authentic ethnic dining experience.

Mama Africa is under new ownership, and we went last weekend to celebrate a birthday. The service was great, the food was delicious, and we’ll definitely be back. There isn’t a ton of parking in the lot for the little strip mall, but we found a spot with no problem. I highly recommend Mama Africa for delicious, authentic, affordable Ethiopian food with excellent service.

What a wonderful restaurant! The owner (and chef!) is such a sweet lady. Food took a little while since it was all made fresh, and it was so worth it! Everything tasted amazing. We’ll definitely be coming back!
