Our family enjoys eating at Naked Fish in Millbrae. Their sushi rolls and bento boxes are always delicious. There are many options to choose from between the menu and their daily specials. Their food is presented well and amply portioned. Their service is consistently good and the servers are attentive. Whether we eat a late lunch or dinner with family and friends, we always leave this place full and content.
My only criticism of this place is the location. Because the gym is directly above it, more specifically, the weight room, you can hear the weights dropping on the floor on certain occasions and it’s distracting. However, because we enjoy eating here more than anything else, we tolerate the noise on the few instances it’s happened.
There is ample parking around, both on the street and in the parking lot next to it.
Overall, I recommend you try this restaurant if you’re in the neighborhood.

This restaurant is a place that wants to be great, but just isn’t. For seating and atmosphere, it’s a standard fare, nothing very interesting. It works, but it’s boring and some seating is annoyingly placed staring straight into the kitchen.
Customer service was C-. They help you and are polite, but they are slow to come to tables and take your order like a robot. Food delivery is the same, they just give it to you, no smiles or checking in.
The food itself was okay, definitely not great. The sushi was passable but slightly dry, and there was no wow to the flavor or savory texture to the fish. The Ramen was way below average, with the pork pieces being tough and the flavor meh. I’ve had Miso all over the US and internationally, and this stuff was sad. When I inquired about spicing it up, I got confused looks and a finger at the menu saying “this is what we have.”
Overall , this place was is the middle of buffet sushi and a proper presentation. Prices are too high for the lower quality. I say go find a budget option, or go elsewhere for a high grade food experience.

I have been going here for years, back when they first opened. The decor is simple and has plenty of TVs to watch sports etc. Service is always fast and prompt. The lady was always checking on us to see if we needed anything else, etc.
I’m sure they are under new ownership because I’ve seen a few new additional food items, and I’m not complaining. This is part of the reason why I came back again so soon.
We ordered:
1. Calamari- this is a must order every time we go here. Lightly fried with onions and jalapeños.
2. Gyozo – I always crave this and it always hits the spot
3. Beef short rib – perfect portion and perfect balance of meat and fattiness which I love.
4. Age dashi tofu – pieces were a little bigger than what I’m use to but perfect balance of crunch and firmness.
5. Crunchy giants – this is a tasty one. To be honest I’ve tried a bunch of the signature rolls especially when I’d go here and they have happy hour specials
6. Honey moon roll- if you like honey walnut prawns this is for you
7. Bento box – huge portions for the price. We typically get anything they have they are all good.
8. Yaki udon – This is new. The noodles tasted so fresh, chewy, and bouncy. I’m not sure how else to describe it. You can just tell when you require take a bite, it’s not some version of a chowmein. We got this one with steak.
9. Sake sampler – highly recommend if you’re not sure which one you like.

We stopped in here when we had some time to kill before getting to the airport and honestly afterward we wished we had tried a different spot nearby instead. The service was poor – very slow, despite the fact that we were sitting at the sushi bar.
The ramen my buddy ordered was meh. And the sushi was just ok. Every now and then you also feel like the ceiling is gonna collapse because there is a gym directly above it with people dropping weights on the floor.

We came in for a quick bite for lunch around 1130am. There wasn’t a wait time and the server was very attentive. Also, the food is comparably priced to other restaurants in the area. Not sure if this was a mistake, but they did not give out spoons for the Miso soup. While I have no problem with just the bowl, some of the others seemed reluctant to partake. They have a plethora of options to choose and the food is brought out within 10 minutes. I would definitely recommend this place!
