Ordered the crabs instead of the lobsters because we think crabs are better deal. The crabs cooked with Newport Special & the other one with ginger scallions. We also ordered salt pepper fried pork chop and sautéed vegetables. Clean restaurant and good friendly services.

Most of the dishes were ok, except for the fish, sea cucumber abalone, and the shaken beef. The shaken beef and sea cucumber abalone had no flavor whatsoever, and the fish was simply fried and topped with a basic sauce—nothing special, yet it was priced at $93, which felt unreasonable for what was served.
If you choose to dine here, I’d recommend avoiding the fish, sea cucumber abalone, and shaken beef.

Let me start out by saying skip this place. I am from out of town and went here for dinner tonite. Ate at the sister restaurant few years back and remember the house special lobster was really good but questioned if they ripped me off on the lobster size. The sister place was super busy at tge time. Anyway decided to try this place on Bolsa tonite. Terrible expensive lobster. Not much taste at all. The lady I think owner told me smallest lobster is about 4 lbs and bigger 5+ lbs. I ordered the small lobster since only 3 people and planned to order other dishes. The bill came and was charged 5+ lbs for $167 just the lobster. I serious don’t believe I got a 5 lb lobster dish. Besides the not good expensive lobster, the stirred fried clams and fired rice dishes were so so and expensive. For 3 people and 18% tip, total bill was crazy $300. Another note. Besides my table, there was just another table of 2 people in the whole restaurant. The place is also very old and sad. Should have took that as a sign of bad food but did not expect to be so bad.

The lobster is always a must try-dish. It’s live, full of meat. It’s well seasoned and famous for their special home sauce. The lobster is well cooked, fresh tasty, juicy, chunky and a bit of spiciness makes it more delicious. Normally it will pair with noodles, this time was alone and I order rice as my side dish. The smallest lobster was ca. 3lbs.
The crab in salty spicy sauce is super good too. The shell is thin, the crab meat is still fresh, soft.
Chè is free of charge till run out. It’s traditional chinese cooking style, less sweet and tender. I’m addictive to it, and always ask for it as my appetizer 🙂

Rip off price and not worth it. And you get moldy lemons. Best to eat somewhere else and save money. And they gave a free soy bean drink but it was expired. Don’t get items that’s free also. Could be poison or expired foods

We were disappointed with the crab. We got the legs and missed the meaty parts of the crab breast. We did not order the crab soup which is probably filled with real crab breast meat.

Tan Cang Newport Seafood Restaurant exceeded expectations with their lobster and stir noodle dish. The lobster was impeccably cooked, boasting freshness and tenderness. A perfect blend of flavors in the stir noodle complemented the dish, leaving us thoroughly satisfied.

What a experience. My Vietnamese friend invited me and I’m so grateful. Is the kind of restaurant you come with your family or a big group of friends and enjoy all authentics. Even this meat soup was so flavorful. I enjoy also ordering the coconut water. I can’t eat spicy and they were able to accommodate my request. But for my friends that love really spicy they enjoy.
