I stopped Saturday evening in advance of the January 24-25th snowstorm, and had a lovely dinner; it was delicious! Lydia ( I hope I am spelling her name correctly) took great care of me, and I enjoyed my meal. Made a stressful evening better.

I understand now why I’d never heard of Fig before eating there tonight and why the place was basically empty during dinner rush. If you’re looking for good quality food and a pleasant atmosphere then don’t bother with Fig. They’re lucky they have a corner location near UVA because without it I doubt they’d still be open.

I ordered the lamb loin and was served maybe 4 bites of thin meat. The majority of it was grizzle and bone. The mash potatoes were cold. I didn’t eat more than 2 bites, 1 of which I had to spit out into my napkin. The owner who is also the cook came out to let me know I must not actually like lamb and don’t know what it’s supposed to taste like because he cooked it perfectly. If I had eaten the whole plate I would understand not comping the meal, but it wasn’t even edible to me and even if it was, it was a child’s portion size. Seems like food must get sent back a lot for them to have such a strict policy. Or maybe it’s just the cook/owners ego Either way, wouldn’t recommend the place. You can walk a few steps in either direction and find much better options where they actually care about their customers leaving satisfied.

Enjoyable experience. Menu is diverse, from fried chicken to pierogis. The latter was tasty, but the chicken it came with was dry and unseasoned. My drink was also disappointing – watery and only half full. Service was great, our server was attentive and friendly. Warm atmosphere as well. Would recommend giving this place a try.

Just skip this place. Their online brunch menu says they have $3 mimosas but we never saw that in the restaurant. I got the Big Fig which was $13.50 on their menu on their website but it was $16.50 in person. The bacon and potatoes were supposed to be “cajun” but did not have ANY seasoning on them. My friend did not like the egg whites and the $6 side avocado is just pitiful. This is the type of place that brings you sauce in little cups and it’s never enough… They say their system can’t split bills by items, only in half. So we paid on one check. Then see there is a convenience fee of 3%. For what? Nothing about this is convenient?? And if it was because I paid with a card we were not told and there are not signs about it. Our waitress was okay. Forgot some things, could have come back to check sooner, didn’t explain some things, whatever. And the suggested tips are 20, 22, and 24%

Fig is a true Charlottesville gem. It’s refreshing to see a locally owned restaurant putting so much heart into their food and hospitality. The menu always has creative options, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. Places like this are why supporting local restaurants matters.

Super cute brunch spot with a great vibe. Highly recommend making a reservation since there was a constant flow of people coming in waiting for tables and it’s a relatively small space. Food was great and well made, i only gave 4 stars since there wasn’t a huge variety of brunch cocktails and there weren’t any omelette dishes. The food they did have was pretty good, though! Plus the service was outstanding and that’s really what matters the most.

Had brunch at Fig and it was outstanding. The flavors were fresh and unique, portions were perfect, and everything came out quickly even though the restaurant was busy. The drink specials were also amazing. This is definitely becoming our go-to brunch spot.
