Chayo’s, located in Gilmer, TX, is truly the best in the area. They offer the best Mexican food—always delicious, authentic, and top quality. The staff provides exceptional service: friendly, attentive, and professional. A place where great flavor and great service come together. Highly recommended.

Let me on the phone to scold her children. Gave me a burn quesadilla without sour cream and avocado. No utensils and no napkins.
Place was empty at 5:30ish in the afternoon. 3/626

I came when they just open the doors! Now the corn tortilla was not the cheapy where it breaks apart…and you got to double up, love how it was dry, Flavorful….keep up the amazing job

The food is very good. However, We won’t be supporting this business. I asked for clarification on pricing on the menu versus on my receipt & the owner looked at me with obvious distain on her face. Another customer misunderstood whether or not they charge extra for queso was told “NO, what I said was….” very rudely. They have children running the register who forget to charge customers for an entire entree. I had to bring it to her attention that they didn’t charge me. If this is how the owner treats all customers I’m not surprised there wasn’t anyone in the restaurant.

Let me start by saying ma’am, thatnYou are truly blessed that all you’re great friends left you such great reviews for your restaurant. UN.nFortunately , I am unable to give zero stars or I would. The food was lacking for the price that was paid and honestly, if I go into a place paying 1595 per entree, I would expect that I could sit down and order my food and be served after all, your listing online says you are a restaurant, not a taco truck and whatever you call a taqueria if i’m not mistaken it’s like everything that I see traveling the highway at most gas stations between here and dallas that often has a laundry mat attached. And to be quite Frank as many times as I heard. The microwave door open and shut several times before Our food came out i realize we actually were in an indoor taco truck.. Oddly enough.
When my mother and I walked in , we both commented on the fact that we didn’t smell any food and one of the things that i’m pretty sure you always smell walking into a good mexican food restaurant is the food….. I mean.nCome on , even taco bell smells good when you walk inside.we were the only 2 people in the restaurant. That seems more like taco truck to me.And I’m sure that I’m going to get ripped for this, because that seems to be your modus operandi, if you spent half the energy improving your restaurant and taking the hits from your customers that could allow you to improve instead of arguing with them or making them feel as if something’s wrong with them for giving an honest review. You might find success. I wish you well and the best of luck have a nice and blessed day, ma’am.d
