CELIAC PEOPLE STAY AWAY !!!
I used to love By Gollys as a Celiac customer. Last time I went, they changed their sunny Marie’s buns to some cheap fall apart, nasty bun, they changed their fries which I asked if they were still gluten free to which she said yes ( they weren’t, I’m still so sick 3 days later, they’re covered in breading and seasoning now ), they only had 2 waitresses, waited 45 mins to put an order in, burgers taste awful now. So sad, won’t go again, it used to be a safe spot for me ):

I came in on a Thursday so it wasn’t busy at all!
Rylie was our server and she was amazing! Our food was brought out hot and fresh in literal seconds!!
We ordered fried pickles, a burger and chicken sandwich and everything tasted great and hot! This was a great first experience!

My family and I don’t eat out much, partly because of my dietary restrictions, but we are thrilled that we have found a place where we can all enjoy a meal in Anderson. I have non-Celiac gluten sensitivity and have several health conditions that have led multiple doctors and other medical providers to advise me to follow a low FODMAP diet. Recently, I saw a dietician and did lots of elimination testing of FODMAPs. Gluten is one FODMAP I have to cut out permanently (I used Fodzyme to mitigate the effects of some others, but not with gluten), and cross contamination does seem to affect me, too.
We visited By Golly’s for the first time on a slow Sunday night a few months ago after looking on an app for someplace gluten free near us. We were surprised that a place with bar food would have a dedicated fryer, but a review we read claimed that it did. Our server, Alyssa, was so helpful, kind, and friendly. She shared that someone who works at By Golly’s is Celiac and that is partly why they understand the need for avoiding cross contamination so well.
My husband and I both ordered smash burgers, and they were incredible. The Sonny Marie’s GF bun that came with mine was so delicious, too. Since that first visit, we’ve been back several times. On the second visit I ordered a burger again, but it came out with a regular bun. The server (not Alyssa, but I cannot remember her name) apologized profusely and said they would remake my burger. To be fair, I told her at the beginning of placing my order that I had a gluten sensitivity, and then I didn’t specifically say “GF bun” when I was listing what I wanted on the burger. It probably would have helped avoid that situation if I’d done that. It took a little while for my replacement order to come out, so I’m confident that they did, indeed, make a whole new burger for me. I did not get sick after that meal, or any other time we’ve gone to By Golly’s.
The food has always been good when we go to By Golly’s, but there are definitely days and times when it is even more delicious. We haven’t cracked the code on when that occurs, but I do think it helps to go when it’s less busy, especially if you have dietary restrictions. My teenager loves their boneless wings, and my husband is a big fan of the Bell’s Two Hearted Ale that Alyssa recommended on our first visit. We love By Golly’s and hope they stick around! Anderson is really lacking in restaurant diversity, particularly for those of us with dietary restrictions.

So this was our first time (and last time) at By Golly’s. Be sure to review the menu before you go. If you are not in the mood for hamburger everything, this probably isn’t a good choice for you. We ordered pretzel bites with cheese as an app. This should have been our first clue to leave. The pretzels were bland and flavorless (even for a pretzel) and the “cheese” sauce was the cheapest, most bland and slippery cheese I’ve ever eaten. It didn’t even stick to the pretzels. It just slid off in a glob. My SO ordered a chicken sandwich with waffle fries and cheese. He literally was served five fries and no cheese. Sandwich was nothing special. I ordered a cobb salad that had a tiny bit of chicken cut into itty bitty pieces. It might have been 1/4 of a piece of chicken. What little I got was dry. I subbed cheddar for the bleu cheese. Maybe got a tablespoon. I asked for more and received another tablespoon. Had to ask for ranch and it was like pouring white water on my salad. No flavor at all. Poured honey mustard over it. It was the saddest $14 salad I’ve ever gotten. There were weird issues with the service, but one person was decent. My advice–don’t go if your hungry or wanting anything besides a burger. We should have turned back around and left when we walked in and it was mostly empty at 6:00 on a Saturday night.

If you want to find a place for drinks and appetizers with some friends…. This is a great option! When we arrived it was a seat yourself set up and the place was packed. So please understand if you are not okay waiting a little bit for the server to notice you’ve sat down, go to the bar. Our server was attentive and did a very good job. Our food came out quickly and was very tasty. I will for sure go back again and try

Stopped in for Saturday brunch. Great service and suggestions by hardworking and always entertaining Jodi. She made our visit so memorable! Try the pretzel bites she’s said…we did…she was RIGHT!! Try the beer cheese and queso.

After a long evening at the vet the other night, I decided to call in and order a few burgers from here, and I’m so glad I did. From the very start, the woman who took my order over the phone was incredibly kind and welcoming. When I walked into the store, she greeted me with the biggest smile and truly made me feel like a valued customer. It turned what could’ve been a stressful night into such a pleasant experience. I’ll definitely be stopping in next time—and a little tip for the crew southwest ranch would be such a great option here for the fries and extra seasoning… it’s would be so good!

Horrendous. Top to bottom. This review is more out of disappointment than anger. This location has given up. Bartenders that aren’t old enough to pour a beer that are also tasked with serving 7-8 tables. Staff talking about cash tips because their checks are off. TV’s not working. Food is half assed, cold and asking for sauces or silverware takes 10+ minutes. We have given it five tries because we love ByGolly’s Milford so much. Its a great location so definitely go to that one. Anderson is disgracing the ByGolly’s name. It is far and away the worst experience in the township sadly.

Ordered on DoorDash, so I can’t say much about the atmosphere. The food was phenomenal though, even delivered. The burger and fries were perfect. Fries were crispy still and hot. Burger was huge and good quality. I just wished I’d gotten the drink I ordered, though I don’t know if that was a BG thing or a DoorDash thing. I would definitely come back.
