The food was amazing, we all got the king cut prime rib with their loaded mashed potatoes and clam chowder the rib was tender and juicy filled with flavor. The clam chowder was rich with clams, literally the best clam chowder I’ve ever had. The loaded mash potatoes was loaded with bacon all the way through. We also all ordered shrimp cocktails, the shrimp was massive and fresh. This place deserves way more traffic than it gets. Would eat here again.

This place has a cozy, hometown vibe, but unfortunately, the food experience was far from comforting. Many dishes tasted like they’d been pulled straight from the freezer, with a noticeable freezer-burnt and old oil flavor. Nothing tasted fresh, from appetizers to desserts. Even the dessert seemed like it had been sitting for too long—dry and lackluster.
The salad had an off-putting fishy taste, which was a big letdown. The mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders left a putrid aftertaste, and the potato skins felt lazy—barely an upgrade from a basic baked potato. The chicken parm was dry and carried the same odd aftertaste, while the stuffed shells were outright disappointing.
Drinks weren’t much better. While the Mountain Dew was the only refreshing part, other drinks quickly watered down as they sat atop a mountain of ice.
The one redeeming highlight? The prime rib. It was cooked perfectly medium-rare, tender, and flavorful. At $29, it felt like a great value, and it’s honestly the only reason I’d consider coming back.
Service was friendly, which helped ease the otherwise poor dining experience. However, the restaurant is in dire need of a renovation—both in decor and in the kitchen.
Final thoughts? Skip most of the menu and stick to the prime rib if you visit. Otherwise, there are better dining options elsewhere.

Opted for take-out in the Covid-19 era. We ordered a Clam Plate along with a Seafood Platter ( I think, Scallops, shrimp and fish)
Both plates came with ample portions,and the quality of food was above average. There was one gritty whole belly Clam…dang sand! The customer service was fine, the overall atmosphere was somewhat down… the outdoor seating is limited and I strongly suspect the workers are struggling to make ends meet…yes I left a good tip. My heart goes out to these workers…Yes I would recommend.

I had a terrible experience at Café Venice this evening and I won’t be back. The problem is that this place won’t even be in business in another year or it will ne under new ownership so I really don’t have to worry about I took pictures of a Greek salad with steak tips as shown below they gave me charred steak tips I asked for medium well and when you cut them up and they were but the problem was that they were so burnt on the outside that they were inedible. I never send back food . The steak tips were like charcoal on the outside. I showed the server my food he agreed they were absolutely burnt on the outside. Two minutes later the owner came by and said she asked for medium well I said absolutely I did and she goes well those are medium well on the inside I said absolutely but they are so burnt on the outside they’re inedible and she goes yeah I can’t do anything about that. They get cooked on the grill. Over the years I have ordered many steak tips salads from many restaurants and they manage to make a medium well steak tip without charring it on the outside. Before our food came my daughter and I asked for a refill of soda and she made it a point to say you only get one refill and we looked at her and said it was fine.
I paid for my steak tips and put my plate of food to the side and did not eat a bite of it. I understand that all restaurants have staffing issues nowadays but people work hard and expect to have an edible meal for their money.
The owner needs to work on her customer relations.

Great place! Food was delicious and plentiful. Sat in the bar area. It was busy and full of local folks. Waitress was awesome and so were other staff. Will def be going back!
