Best authentic Sichuan foods in town.
Garlic eggplants were so good! Great with jasmine rice. And the fried mochi with brown sugar syrup came in 12 !!! They really hit the spot!!! Yummy spicy beef noodles too! Tender beef and noodles were chewy!
Delicious house fried rice with Chinese sausage and everything in it!!
Sautéed bok choy with garlic was excellent!
Also the spicy cumin beef was tasty but way too spicy for my liking!
Pumpkin mochi dessert was just ok.
Service can be hit or miss! We came a couple times! Sometimes the waitstaff was really good and friendly. Other times they never came over to check on us or refill our tea.
All In all, Almost everything we have tried here was delicious and we love big portions!!
Would love to come back when I’m in town again.

Steamed fish was exceptional, tender and flavorful, the authenticity bringing you immediately back to China. On the other hand, Maocai was quite mediocre.

(Update)

Came here a 2nd time, the Peking duck was not authentic, from the cut to the taste; the boiled pepper frog was ok.

Chef Jiang has been an up and coming Chinese restaurant in New Haven, one that is suitable for a wide range of occasions, from more casual to formal. I love these hot pots because we get to pick the ingredients.

I am a soldier of Peter Chang, as is my father, and his father before him. However, we recognize an ally when we see one – another créateur passionate about bringing authentic Sichuan cuisine to the American public. There is no mission more honorable.

Chef Jiang may not have the fame of Peter, nor a relationship with the Amish as powerful, but after Chongqing chicken so delectable, he certainly has a place in my heart. May we meet again, my friend. Saluting emoji.

Family consensus, this is the best Sichuan Chinese restaurant in the Northeast of US. That’s given that we’re from NYC where there are the tons of authentic Sichuan restraints and the likes of Chuan Tian Xia and Sichuan Mountain house and we’ve tried the underwhelming Peter Chang in DC-Virginia. If you’re any self respecting Chinese foodie you are honor bound to come here and try to food.

Ask for the chili oil to taste the chef’s skill and enjoy the meal.

This restaurant is really beautiful, nicely decorated, and very orange haha. The Chinese food is tasty, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. The staff is polite. I recommend it — it’s definitely a place I’d go back to!

My favorite Chinese restaurant has opened a second location in New Haven, and I couldn’t be more excited! Their food is seriously the best, and we thought everything was very consistent with their original location in Farmington. We went on the first day for their soft opening, and the staff was clearly well trained because everything went smoothly and our food arrived quickly. Gorgeous interior that’s reminiscent of the original location. It’s so good to have Chef Jiang in this part of the state now!

We went there on a Friday noon for lunch and we were a party of 6. Service was slow and not all spoke proper English. Food on the other hand was good and portions were good for sharing. I highly recommend the Scallion fried rice and sesame balls.

The food is pretty standard, nothing out of the box. I had better food of this cuisine elsewhere. In my opinion, the Lo Mein was undercooked. Moreover, the service by the staff was not that great. Their interaction was very rude and when asked about a certain food, they were not able to tell that as only one server was able to communicate properly.
