Really cozy atmosphere, great service and good food!
I really enjoyed the chicken – most of the time we get dry and tough chicken but this one is different – soft, perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. I can cut it with my fork. And the Naan is the most delicate one I have and love it so much.
It says it’s Punjabi street food style (I am not expert) and I really enjoyed it.
Will definitely recommend anyone to come!
• Food Highlights: The saag, and paneer (specifically the Bibi Da Saag) were standout items, which we praised for their authentic, slow-cooked flavors.
• Bread Options: While the garlic naan is a popular accompaniment, we felt the garlic infusion could be bolder. Additionally, we had Tandoori Roti, though it traditionally does not come with a butter option unless requested.
• Service: The staff were consistently noted for being attentive and welcoming, and providing service with a genuine smile that made us feel like family.
• Atmosphere & Comfort: The restaurant offers a casual and stylish Punjabi-inspired setting. However, due to its layout, seating near the door can be susceptible to cold drafts when the restaurant is busy with waiting patrons.
• Value: Pricing, we considered reasonable for the quality of authentic Punjabi street food and classics served.
It was very noisy and felt cramped and overcrowded. None of the usual tablecloths just a wooden table which gave it the feel of a cafe rather than a restaurant.
The menu was impressive with a very good range of dishes to choose from. It started well with a very good mohito but I’m not sure what the idea of mini poppadoms were all about – they weren’t mini poppadoms but rather large poppadoms broken up which meant there were a large number of tiny pieces left in the bottom of the basket.
My partners lamb samosas arrived and were hot and very tasty. My yogurt bombs had not arrived by the time the samosas were finished so we chased to be told they were on their way. Another five minutes later they still hadn’t arrived so I asked for them to be cancelled as the main courses would be due. They then arrived and we were advised that due to the mix up they would not be charged for. They were tasty but I’m not sure if they had been sitting somewhere for a while as they were stone cold. When the starters were cleared away, the waiter twice tried to clear our drinks despite them still being over half full. We had to ask him to leave them as we were still waiting for our main courses.
The lamb jalfrezi main course was very tasty but the chicken korma was disappointing and tasted just like a cream sauce with no texture or flavour of any nuts and no discernable spices.
All in all a very disappointing experience for somewhere I was really looking forward to trying.
So glad we discovered the Coriander Club so close in walking distance to our Calcot Best Western hotel.
We had vegetable biryani and lamb biryani. Not too spicy…mild to medium. Complemented by the accompanying yoghurt.
So many flavours working well together. Good sized portions and served by friendly, welcoming staff.
Great to have a choice of no alcohol drinks too, as well as usual alcohol choices.
Would definitely visit again when we’re in the area . Bus stop on the Bath rd a few minutes walk away.
If we lived locally, we’d definitely be getting takeaway/delivery from here
But the real star? The food! Every bite was a burst of flavour – rich, aromatic, and utterly irresistible. Their Mali Kulfi was the ultimate showstopper: luxuriously creamy and the perfect end to an extraordinary meal.
Highly, highly recommended – this place is a feast for all the senses!
I wasn’t disappointed – the table was beautifully presented, the service was impeccable and all the carefully selected dishes were cooked beautifully. The offering was a traditional choice of a lamb curry, butter chicken, few veggie options and a daal plus starters. My favourites were the chili paneer (for me could have bee a bit more spicy but I appreciate my spice tolerance is insanely high) and the lamb curry which was incredible. Tender lamb, superb gravy – very well put together dish.
All in all – great value for money and a very pleasant evening. Will definitely be coming back.
