Well we phone ordered a meal from the Noodle Box menu. I ordered the Starter Hot Box, as I love hot food, and I informed the lady on the phone that I wished the meals extremely hot, with chillies galore, with no sweet chilli, just hop chillies and hot sauses. She even stated, the ‘Starter Hot Box was the hottest on menu’. What we discovered on getting home was a bowl of Noodles, with a thin guttless sauce, that had next to no flavour, no spice, and reflecting it was weaker than a satay sauce.
So to give some life to this travesty at home, involved chopping Fresh chillies and adding them to soy sauce, then add some Crispy Chilli Oil, then finally add a semi-commercial, reaper hot sauce. After all this I obtained some flavour.
Due to the distance we reside from town, the option to drive back to Roma, and retunn our meal and complain was not an option.
In summary, we gave Ruby’s a go, and it was beyond disappointing

I have tried their food, and I love it. Roma is a small town, and there are not many multicultural restaurants here. Ruby Chinese Restaurant is one of them. They only open for dinner, and lunch is not served. I hope they provide lunch special meals during the daytime. Price is a bit more than and less insensitive for regular visits

Last nights I stepped back into this store after 7 years of living away.
To my surprise nothing had changed, 7 years later and I’m still coming back to this fantastic little Restraunt I remembered like it was yesterday. The food was just as full of flavour as the last time I dinned here. The service was friendly with a smile. The honey chicken was spot on and the sweet and sour pork cooked to perfection. If your in town don’t be shy drop by and give these guys a chance to wow you with there flavours and service.
Yes the price of there food has gone up but what’s hasn’t in the area. It’s a cost to get the food delivered to these out back town.

Price was high, quality of the food did not reflect the value. ($35.20 for pictured food minus a bite of each 21-06-2022)
I have had better food at other Chinese restaurants, but the sweet and sour pork is hard to mess up and it went down easily regardless.
Possible hidden fees on takeaway, eftpos surcharge not as surprising, but price still differed marginally from that advertised. Was not offered receipt, felt uncomfortable prying further for one, especially on such a small error or oversight.
Service was prompt, and staff were patient while I decided on my hotbox selections.
I will likely opt for the Indian cuisine next door over this in the future.

Just under $60 for beef in blackbean, SMALL fried rice and chicken and mushrooms. Wouldn’t mind, but half a dish of onions just doesn’t cut it: especially at these prices. Food was luke warm, even though straight from the takeaway bain marie. Ruby lift your game. Can do better.

I don’t know why this place has bad reviews. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly and accommodating. It’s a typical experience of a Chinese restaurant in a country town. Awesome The sweet and sour pork was the best I’ve ever had.

Absolutely disgusting food, couldn’t even stomach either dish after paying $46 for a special fried rice and chicken and cashews.
Should be called rubber chicken, cauliflower and cashews.
The special fried rice was terrible, the pork or whatever rubbery meat they used was fatty and actually tasted like it had gone off and they used it anyway.
Threw it in the bin after one bite of the meat. Rip off prices for terrible food.
Never again, lesson learned.
