Stumbled upon this place while passing through the area, and what timing did we have! We walked in and there was a crowd of people so large we almost left. Thankfully we didn’t, because we got to see how neat this place is. There was a “Caffeine Crawl” group ahead of us but the line actually moved really fast, and we shockingly didn’t have to wait too long for our food and drinks. The staff was really nice and we loved the unique twists on classic menu items. They do not brew their own coffee beans here but have a partnership with Messenger Coffee in KC. The coffee was fine, but we especially enjoyed our food. The atmosphere was very unique – adorable house with a fireplace and cozy chairs (porch swing, outdoor seating, bar stools, a couch, you name it). They also have some surprises to the space if you explore. 😉 While we waited for our order, the owner spoke to the group ahead of us and we got to hear about how/why the place was started and wow! What a cool story. The owner has done this, not for any income, but as a passion project on the side of her job as a way to give back to her community. They host a lot of events & meetups here it sounds like – basketball, concerts/musical events. So unique! I recommend checking this place out – a cozy spot that contributes to others? Win win.

I had heard about this coffee shop from a friend and decided to trek out to De Soto to check it out. I was NOT disappointed! It had ample seating, friendly staff, and a calm atmosphere. This is such a fun little shop!
I got their brown sugar and sage latte, it was fabulous! I also got their pumpkin bread and it was very moist. I am looking forward to coming back to this quaint little place

This is an awesome place to stop for coffee. If I lived here, this is where I would go every morning. They had oat milk , natural flavorings and a really cozy and eclectic atmosphere. It is very inviting and I would be happy to support this kind of business. ♥️♥️♥️ my dog was quite happy to be here too. We sat outside to enjoy the light breeze before getting back on the highway.

That was a great vanilla latte and oatmeal fruit bar! All while sitting by a very cozy fire with friendly but professional staff in a historic stone house! Loved the whole experience! I’ll be back.

Finally got in to try it today.. 1000/10. The food and coffee were amazing. Even my picky husband was scraping his dish! The price is great considering everything is organic and ethically sourced. Will definitely become a regular! ☕️

One of the absolute highlights of living in DeSoto KS is having close access to Cause Coffee. Not only is the space full of love, light and welcoming energy emulating from the staff comprised of all volunteers- the coffees, teas and other ingredients are ethically sourced, and oftentimes local and organic. I feel good about spending my hard earned money at a place like Cause Coffee, knowing the money isn’t paying for Tara’s third vacation home but rather is given back to those who are most in need in this world. That’s the type of business model I’m down to support!!! Thank you Cause Coffee for providing a safe and fun environment for gathering, working, creating, producing and connecting over the finest selection of ethically sourced coffees, teas and delicious nourishment.

Visiting from Wi and discovered this Adorable little hidden coffee shop. Tried the Frosty which was so good with oat milk and they topped it with a toasted marshmallow, such a fun and unique touch. Will be visiting on my yearly trip to KC

The panini was decent.
My husband ordered coffee here, but it was served in a paper cup. I expected my latte to be in a mug—if I wanted a paper cup, I would have grabbed one from take out shop. I couldn’t taste any coffee, only milk. If you want to actually taste the coffee, ask for more espresso.
This is the first café that has refused to serve coffee in a mug. Even Barker in Lawrence, a very busy shop, serves drinks in mugs.
We drove 20 minutes from Overland Park to try this place—not worth it. Regret not going to Barker instead.

Cause Coffee is a gem in the heart of our community. The moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Their coffee is truly exceptional—bold, smooth, and expertly crafted. But it doesn’t stop there. The LOCAL food offerings are just as IMPRESSIVE. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for catching up with friends or enjoying some quiet time. Cause Coffee isn’t just a café; it’s a place where you feel connected to the local community. Highly recommended!
