Such a stylish spot! The atmosphere is relaxing yet vibrant, the staff is welcoming, and the service is excellent. Their drinks are on point and the wings are absolutely delicious! I had a very disappointing experience at TEXT ULTRA LOUNGE. The prices here are outrageously high and completely unacceptable. I do not recommend this place to anyone. They are clearly taking advantage of people.
What makes it worse is that they refuse to explain why they charge such exorbitant prices. There’s no menu available for you to see beforehand. They only reveal the costs after you’ve already used the service, leaving you feeling taken advantage of. This practice is really, really shameful.

Amazing customer service. It’s not orthodox, but I stayed past closing time due to not being done eating and they took SUCH grand care of me. Great hookah, amazing atmosphere, great food, awesome employees, & an overall good time. One of the coolest places in the Stone Mountain/Decatur/Clarkston area. Totally recommended! Thanks guys!

AMENDED as of June 15th 2019: I have spoken with the owner who was both attentive and apologetic for my experience with the independent security company in mid May who acted outside of their domain. While my experience was extremely upsetting, I appreciate the owner’s willingness to make me feel welcomed and to assure me that it is neither Text’s practice nor a part of their organizational culture to accuse or mistreat their patrons. ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I was referred to this place by a beloved Ethiopian friend. I am a professional and I volunteer in the community. Whenever I come to this place (twice a month, usually), I have 1 or 2 drinks and a mint hookah. The waitress is lovely and professional. But this past Friday night (May 17th, was one of the worst and most horrying nights of my life). I enjoyed my evening with a sparkling water and a mint hookah. I paid the automatic gratuity of 3+ bucks and a buck tax so my total was near 22 dollars. I tipped an additional 5 bucks, AND I gave the nice guy who refilled my hookah coals 5 dollars because his service was impeccable. Koki (I believe her name is), is the best server that place has. Warm, professional and attentive.
I paid in cash and left 45 minutes later. I drove half a mile up the street for gas only to have my car blocked in by a blue SUV…
I thought I was being robbed. A man with an assault rifle and dog got out and accused me of “running out on my bill.” My friend saw me terrified and explaining I had paid in cash and didn’t have my receipt. He attempted to mediate but the SWAT-like officers only postured and took their HANDCUFFS out. I managed to calm everyone down. I pumped my gas (bc I was on ‘E’) and drove back down to Text. The waitress who accused me only said it was a “mistake.” She wouldn’t look me in the eyes.
You see, two African American women jumped up behind me and ran out when I walked out. She pointed at my car parked in the front and I was chased down and had an assault rifle and DOG pulled out on me. I have never so much as had a speeding ticket.
I planned on having my PhD graduation after-party of 150+ at this place in September to support the Black-Brown community in Dekalb. But considering I come there regularly, tip 75%-100% on every bill AND still had this kind of vicious experience, I WILL NEVER BE BACK. I will also never recommend this place because they are apparently so preoccupied with saving 30 bucks that they don’t consider the long-term consequences of their actions. I cried after this experience. I expect an apology since I never received one.
