had a very disappointing experience with my order. There was a piece of paper inside my burger — not the wrapping, but an actual large piece of paper mixed in with the food. On top of that, the burger and the bun were both completely cold, as if they had just come out of the fridge. It was honestly one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had. Not only was the food cold, but realizing I was chewing paper made the experience even worse. This was unacceptable and extremely disappointing.(They still charged my burger 🙂 )

After 3 days on the Pinhote, our first meal off-trail did not disappoint. Excellent service with a warm, homey atmosphere, the catfish sandwich was fantastic, and they never once mentioned how rough we looked (or smelled). Recommend!

This was one of the favorite places to stop on the road food is always good……BUT their prices have gotten ridiculous.
Order of Fried Mushroom , Okra and 2 Cookies almost $24
I looked at the Receipt and they charged a $2.00 Take out fee on top of an almost $5 tax.
Literally that’s my order in the small container aside from 2 Cookies.!
Wow I could have gotten a whole meal for that!

My husband OTR driver & for the past 17 years I have been able to ride with him occasionally. We have been here several times in the past but tonight’s dinner was absolutely unacceptable!!! The prices have gotten so ridiculous that I actually refused to eat because I was so digusted by the blatant “price gouging”. The sweet tea we ordered was sour & gone off because they no longer have any customers to drink it & I imagine it had been sitting there for quitea while. Our waitress ended up putting sugar in their unsweetened tea for us . It used to a nice little place, busy with drivers & families. It used to have decent food & “fair” prices, but now a hamburger with cheese, brown lettuce, 3 little thin pickle slices & a thinly sliced dry pale pink tomato will cost you upwards of 13 dollars NOT including the fries. My husband thought of ordering a “club sandwich” then realized NOTHING CAME WITH IT! No potato chips, no fries no nothing! It was just the sandwich itself for 14 dollars!!! I was gobsmacked!!! There is also NO reason for a “house salad”, with watered down ranch dressing, should cost $12.00!!! The lettuce was wilted, the little pieces of egg were so dried out they basically turned to powder in his mouth. The shredded cheese was as sparse as Christmas tree tinsel, the itty bitty “diced” tomatoes were a very pale shade of pink & the crackers IN A BASKET were stale!!! The vegetable beef soup was runny, diluted with water & had absolutely NO flavor. The “house salad”, the ONE bowl of soup & two unsweetened teas were TWENTY THREE DOLLARS!!! There was ONE other person in the restaurant & he was talking about the same exact issues when it came to the quantity, the quality of the food & the price gouging!!! Oh, the prices in the little store are also exorbitant not to mention the half a mile trek to truck parking!!! We will NOT be stopping here again for ANY reason until these prices come down because, at this point in time, the “cost of living” crisis is NOT the reason for their ridiculous price hikes!!!

The food is decent for the most part. The service is always crap. i have never seen the same waitress every time I have came in. It’s never been packed when I park here to eat. The server struggles just waiting on 2 tables and it takes forever. I guess they have to step outside ever 2 minutes to smoke something and text their baby daddies in prison or something. Love the vibe of a long standing truck stop because these are a dying breed but the staff is horrible when it comes to service. They will be friendly but when you ask me 3 times what I want to drink. Because you kept forgetting we met each other 10 min ago. Tonight was my last night ever coming here. Waited an hour for a Philly cheese steak before I got up and left. There was 4 tables that were seated. It’s a damn shame really.

This place needs to do better,
Ordered a patty melt and fries.WAY OVERPRICED !!!
$16.88. Un believable..
This burger was not good at all, burger was very dry, no rye bread, served on texas toast, fries were cold and soggy. Pretty sure I will never eat there again.. it seems they never change the cooking oil either.
Food has an old oil taste to it.
Definitely DO NOT recommend anyone eat here..The owner should be ashamed of this place.

The food was rather bland with very little seasoning. I had the catfish plate with pinto beans and a side salad. The ranch dressing was actually quite amazing. The catfish was breaded well but no seasoning flavor of any kind, including salt. The beans were cold so they got microwaved. Still no real flavor. The biggest turnoff was the fact the entire restaurant REEKED of cigarette smoke. I was trying to figure out where it was coming from when I found the 30+ ashtrays behind my head and the only server smoking in the hall between the dining area and the kitchen. Definitely won’t be back.

Lookin for genuine Alabama goodness? This place is top notch… for Alabama that is, the food was delicious, the service was friendly and old school charm of a true American diner complete with an ash tray on the table and chicken liver on the menu.

Ok, was really hungry loved the restaurant at a truck stop. Every truck stop should go back to that. Can’t hardly find a good restaurant No, more, most of them that have them. The prices are crazy high. The prices here were average.Pretty good wasn’t bad but I have two complaints.Number oneThe food looked amazing. But the bacon was ice cold.Sorry, but it was and the eggs were barely lukewarm. I thought I was back in the 1980s or 70s, because when I walked in all, I could smell was smoke, and I thought to myself, man, somebody reeks of cigarettes as soon as I passed the first booth. There’s somebody smoking. If you still let people smoke in a restaurant you will lose business However, today’s world nobody wants to eat around smoke. The whole place filled with smoke. My clothes reeked as smoke when I walked out. I stayed
because I was starving. But all I could smell was smoke, not a really good touch. I’m sure it made the smoker happy. I’m an ex-smoker I get it, but in today’s world nobody wants to eat their food around somebody’s smoking. But I understand just forewarning people.
