We dined here on a Monday night, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much since many Indian restaurants don’t taste as good on weekdays. But this place proved me wrong!
For two people, we ordered the Mangalorean Chicken Ghee Roast, Kothu Parotta, and Goat Talapakatti Biryani.
Talapakatti Biryani – 5/5
Exceptional! The mutton was tender, the flavors were rich, and it wasn’t greasy at all. The portion was generous and absolutely wholesome.
Kothu Parotta – 4.5/5
Very flavorful and authentic. The only improvement I’d love to see is a slightly larger portion.
Mangalorean Chicken Ghee Roast – 4/5
Spiced perfectly as per our customization, with tender pieces. Tasty, but quantity could be better.
Ambience: Average, nothing fancy, but the food definitely makes up for it.
Overall, a surprisingly great Monday dining experience.

This underrated spot shows incredible promise and already serves some of the finest biryani I’ve tasted in town. The flavors felt authentic and carefully crafted. I especially enjoyed the distinct taste of Thalappakatti Chicken along with the Donne Paneer Biryani. The chicken pieces were tender, juicy, and beautifully infused with aromatic masala. Each bite delivered depth and satisfying spice. However, the paneer cubes lacked flavor and felt more like an afterthought than an integral part of the dish. With a bit more seasoning, that item could easily match the rest of the menu. Focusing on their true signature specialties would help maintain consistency. Refining the selection could prevent mixed impressions and ensure every plate reflects their high standards.

Wonderful dining experience with classic South Indian dishes prepared beautifully. The aroma of spices welcomes guests warmly. Dosa comes hot and crisp with great flavor. Sambhar tastes homemade and comforting. Coconut chutney pairs perfectly with every bite. The staff remains polite and attentive. Clean surroundings make the meal even better. Definitely a five star visit.

Annam South Indian Restaurant truly delivers a five-star dining experience from start to finish. The menu offers a fantastic variety of classic South Indian dishes that cater to every taste. I especially loved the soft idlis and perfectly brewed filter coffee. The ingredients were clearly fresh and of high quality. The team was polite, knowledgeable, and happy to make recommendations. The restaurant maintained excellent cleanliness and hygiene standards. Portions were generous and reasonably priced. I will definitely be coming back again soon.

From beginning to end, the entire experience was truly outstanding and memorable. Every aspect surpassed what I had hoped for in the most positive way. The level of quality was remarkable and clearly reflected great care and effort. I was sincerely impressed by the fine attention given to even the smallest details. The environment felt warm, comfortable, and inviting throughout my visit. Everything was well-organized and ran seamlessly without any issues. The professionalism and courtesy shown made a big difference. It’s rare to find such consistency and dedication these days. I would gladly return again and confidently suggest it to friends and family.

The food was fairly good overall, especially the flavorful paneer tikka masala and the chapati, which were soft and tasty at three for $6, though they seemed to include ghee despite my request for them to be dry. The masala dosa was average in my opinion, but others who enjoy dosa might appreciate it, and the brown peanut chutney served with it was quite nice. The paneer Donna biryani was decent, though different from the Hyderabadi style that I personally prefer. I placed my order online through Zing, and while it wasn’t ready at the scheduled time due to a rush of takeout orders, everything was correct. Service was satisfactory, though communication was a bit challenging because of limited English.

The food was decent overall, with the paneer tikka masala and chapati being especially delicious and well worth it. Although I requested the chapati without oil or ghee, it seemed to have some, but it still tasted fine. The masala dosa and paneer Donne biryani were okay—personally, I prefer Hyderabadi biryani—but the peanut chutney was quite good. Ordering through Zing was slightly inconvenient as the food wasn’t ready on time, and communication was a bit challenging, though thankfully the takeout order was accurate.

There are plenty of breakfast and tiffin choices available to pick from. I ordered the vada curry—something you don’t find at every restaurant—along with set dosa and Davanagere dosa. The dosas were flavorful and generously coated with ghee, making them incredibly tasty. The chutney was fresh and nicely thick, while the vada curry was excellent without being overly greasy. The sambar was hearty and filled with vegetables. Overall, it’s a solid spot worth trying.

We’ve visited multiple times, and each experience has been excellent—breakfast buffet offerings like thatte idlis, masala dosa, pooris, and rava kesari were fresh, hot, and made to order, with coffee slightly sweet but enjoyable; lunch featuring combination Hakka noodles, masala dosa, and thatte idlis was equally satisfying, while previous visits with the mutton platter and sweetened idlis delighted the family. The authentic South Indian flavors and freshness truly stand out compared to other local restaurants, and we’ve recommended the place to relatives, who also loved the biryanis and noodles they picked up last week.

We dined here on a Monday night without high expectations, but the experience pleasantly surprised us. For two people, we ordered the Mangalorean Chicken Ghee Roast, Kothu Parotta, and Goat Talapakatti Biryani, and each dish was full of rich, authentic flavors. The Talapakatti Biryani stood out with its tender mutton, generous portion, and perfectly balanced, non-greasy taste. The Kothu Parotta and Ghee Roast were both delicious and well-spiced, though slightly larger portions would have made them even better. The ambience was simple and nothing fancy, but the quality of the food truly made up for it. Overall, it turned out to be a surprisingly great weekday dining experience.
