Had a desire to get some blue crabs since we hadn’t had them in a while. Oddly enough the desire kicked in while in Richmond and not back home where crabs are everywhere. Found that this place was listed and gave it a shot. It’s definitely got the crab shack vibe going and clearly it gets a ton of business. We ended up getting the crab kickers and seasoned steamed shrimp. Both items were delicious and we ate them onsite. Kickers are crabs already broken in half with butter and spices. Most people get food to take home and it was about 100 degrees during our visit so not many people wanted to hang out. Staff was super helpful even tho they were busy. We also ended up getting some of their fired Whiting which had a great breading on it making it crunchy with each bite. I think it’s cash only but they do have a ATM inside. If I’m ever back in Richmond looking for blue crab I’ll go back.

First time there & now I am hooked! The lady who worked the front counter was absolutely amazing helped me figure out what I wanted for the best price! I appreciate the time she took and she even showed me what my order would look like. The shrimp & kickers is what we ordered and I can’t wait to get back to order more. Delicious! On Sunday July 30, 2017, I opted to try this place for the very first time. I wanted to order a dozen of the Louisiana females, but unfortunately there were no more available. I ended up with a dozen of the North Carolina females and an order of the crab kickers. I paid for my order and then received a piece of advice from the woman who rang me up which was “we are about to close so don’t go outside and if you do go hurry up and get back in here you know how she is once she closes that door that’s it!” I was baffled because I don’t know who “she” is. I told her that this was my first time there and her reply was make sure you stay close after waiting 30+ minutes for my order we finally were able to leave, we were next to the last people, they were about to close. We arrived home got comfortable and tore the bag open. The crabs were a pretty decent size but they were light and had little to no meat in them, were it not for the seasoning on the outside of the crab our crabs would’ve had no flavor. We were more than disappointed, next we tried the kickers that has. a Garlic spice mixture. The kicker crabs were meaty but they tasted horrible, it tasted like wet meat with a faint garlic after taste. I cannot say I’d go back.

My wife and her friends love going here so one bad experience isn’t going to taint the overall experience and since she loves the place I’ll put up with occasional shenanigans from here but… I drove all the way from Virginia Beach to get crabs from them a few weeks ago and they put me on hold and I’m on hold for 15 minutes even though I called before the 5:00-5:30 closing time and the call somehow gets disconnected on their side. I was very disappointed in the customer service I received on that day but other days have been better!

Absolutely the “BEST CRABS” & “SEAFOOD”! The crabs are caught daily and cooked live on the spot! It doesn’t and can’t get any fresher. The “Crab Kickers” are to die for… (At least) 8 Crab Clusters & Claws with a “Special Homemade Spices” & Sauce… It’s a meal in itself! And if you like the special spices then you’re going to love the “Kicker Shrimp”. This stuff isn’t found anywhere else, (Including Sam’s Club), except at “The Crab Lady”…Guaranteed! Many have tried to copy her product, but NOBODY can come close! They even have fried fish, oysters and clams strips and fish sandwiches too! Oh, the newest menu item is the “Snow Crab Leg & Shrimp Kicker Combo”. This generous portion meal is comprised of a LARGE Snow Crab Leg Cluster, Spiced Kicker Shrimp, her Special Potatoes, Homemade “Crab Lady” Corn Bread, and Corn-on-the-Cob. So whether you order Fresh Cooked Crabs, the Crab or Shrimp Kickers or the Combo, your sure to get “The Best Seafood” anywhere!

rather expensive. staff is not friendly. Stuart’s has the same crabs , same price, but superb customer service. 10 minutes before closing an employee was on the porch turning the OPEN sign off, saying ” I ain’t doing this today. We getting out of here today.” As I was leaving, a woman was pulling into the parking lot, stopped me and asked what was going on, no one would answer the phone. I told her it was best not to go in and bother them.

It was my first time going there and another customer suggested crab Kicker’s to us. I am so glad we chose to get them because they were simply delicious. I have never had crab that taste this good!

Pricey its def almost a guarantee that each crab will be meaty and sweet!!! & please beware of the crab kickers…that’s an addiction waiting to happen and hard to kick when she’s doesn’t have none. Over the past years I’ve seen other places try to duplicate the crab kicker’s but none have come close so dont be fooled by imposters!
