Thanks to the other Google reviewers I took a chance on this place for a friend’s birthday lunch and it was amazing. The service was quick, our server was friendly and knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. The sushi was delicious and fresh, the egg drop soup was light and yummy and the hibachi portions are fantastic. I didn’t want to stop eating. The restaurant was really quaint and not crowded at all. The takeout however was popping off and people were always in and out quickly. No one I saw waited more than 5 or 10 minutes for an order. This is definitely the best sushi in Chester, might even be the best Japanese food in SC.

If you are looking for decent Asian food in Chester, this is a good option. They don’t have an online order system which is annoying, let’s be honest. You have to call and talk to someone with broken English, online would take this away and provide a great experience for the customer. But my food was on time, decent and affordable.

I really wish this place would bring back its dining in section because I miss that. They have two tables (and the main dining room section is blocked off because they have boxes and stuff back there) and I’ve actually never been there and both tables be taken because we always eat inside, so that’s good. The other Asian places in Chester don’t have any seating anymore so it would be really nice if this one would offer seating to everyone again. The people that work here are really nice and they have the best sweet tea (really sweet, the way I like it anyways). They have some good sushi, but their chicken and rice bowls aren’t my favorite. However, my nine-year-old very much disagrees and likes Umi better than all the other places I’ve taken him. I wish they had sweet carrots and onions as a side to go with a yakitori chicken or something. Their sweet potato sushi is really good! Honestly, I’ve never gotten a sushi roll from there I didn’t like and I’ve tried a bunch of different ones!

Pleasantly surprised. We just moved to the area and love sushi but didn’t expect there to be anything decent in Chester. Had to try this place out because of the great ratings! Food came fast and sushi was refreshing!

Where do I start!?!? Restaurant empty and they’re cooking a whole stove top of rice and protein and I mean a pile of it and that should have been my first red flag! Because when I was handed my food the employee is on the phone which hindered me from asking any question I may have had….i left without checking my food! My mistake! Got home and the bag was full of the water they have the vegetables sitting in to keep them soft or mushy either one because it was a mixture of both type of vegetables. And I say water because there was no season or flavor with it….Protein was probably the 1st of 4 previously cooked piles of rice and meat I seen when picking mine up earlier. Rice was glue balls that I could use in a food fight because that honestly wasn’t good for nothing else!
Mad because I paid 18.64 for steak, chicken and shrimp w/2 egg rolls and it was trash!!!!!!! No taste or flavor and definitely not fresh!!!!!! If I can give this dark and empty place a zero in all areas I will!

First time visiting. The service was great. Food was hot and tasty! Prices are really good too. I feed 4 adults for $60. I hope they expand it into a sit down place due to only 2 tables were present. Lots of takeout orders was going on.

They have gone down hill.We have ordered here pretty regularly in the last few years, but tonight it was not good. My husband always gets the same thing, and this time his meal was so much smaller than before. Also the food tasted aweful. Hope we dont get sick.Time to say goodbye and find a new place I guess.

If you have never been here before, then stay away. Went to eat while camping at chester State Park. Reviews were average with some positive and negative. Looking at the pictures online looked like a sit-down restaurant with dishes served on plates when we arrived it was a take out place with a few seats inside and food served in Styrofoam containers not a big deal what the problem was some of the meals we ordered had a awful taste that I can’t describe. The bad taste stuck with us all night, and wondering if we were going to get sick was the worst part of it. After throwing away the food that we just paid $55 dollars for.
