I have to agree with the most recent reviews I’ve seen here. Good food, family establishment, it’s the complete experience you want even to include the music you hear in the background. Very authentic.

Edit:

After going back for a second time, I just realized that I never mentioned what I had the first time, so here’s the breakdown:

1st visit: Chorizo and egg with cheese plate that came with potatoes and beans, and I got two flour tortillas.

2nd visit: Carne guisada with egg plate, it came with potatoes and beans, I got the eggs scrambled with cheese, and I got one flour and one corn tortilla.

Everything was very good both times.

This little place was a great find! Everything tasted homemade and was delicious! I especially loved the refried beans – reminded me of my childhood! It is a tad tough to get to if you’re headed northbound but worth the drive. Ordered takeout when we got to the parking lot and it took about 15 mins. Definitely call ahead or just eat in which we will be doing next time!

Came here on our way back from San Antonio. We were looking for something authentic and have to say we did. The it’s a small restaurant which we don’t mind at all. Service was good they were very friendly. It’s a family owned business so come check them out.

The place is a must try for all foodies. Excellent service and experience. The sauces are fresh, flavorful, and a medium heat/spice on the palate. The food is fresh, hot, delicious, and priced to bring the heat. When I say heat, I mean this place should be hopping, popping, and moving. If you don’t try them just once, you will miss out on the hand-made corn, flour tortillas. Aguas frescas at the counter simply forces you to temptation. Thank you Celaya’s for feeding my lusting appetite. I shall return with my people to enjoy your amazing food!

I am from Austin. I got dropped off in the new Braunfels area coming from San Antonio, I was looking for a place to wait for my ride. I ordered a pastor taco and lengua taco. I loved the pastor the salsas, the tortillas were home-made, delicious! The cucumber lime water is so good! This will be my new stop anytime I travel back home from San Antonio.

Food is always fresh and most importantly they don’t burn their eggs like a lot of places do. Tacos are made perfectly.

We were visiting the snake farm and stumbled upon this small restaurant. Doesn’t look much from the outside and we almost missed it.

The food is good and affordable.

Decided to give them a try today and wasn’t disappointed! Nachos were hot, cheesy and plentiful. Enchilada plates were hot and delicious. Small restaurant but very worth it. We will definitely be back!

When I googled it online the prices seem reasonable. However when they charged the card it was not disclosed that there was a $2 fee to use a credit card. It was not mentioned on the phone and there was no sign posted. I ordered two tacos each with bacon egg bean and cheese. It was $1.99 per taco and 35 cents for each add-on. That made sense to me and I expected that but my total was coming out to $7.99 and he did not explain exactly why. It was a young kid at the cashier who did not communicate well. Once I asked for a receipt breakdown I saw the charge for NON CASH ADJ. In this day and age of credit cards this should not be happening. BUYER BEWARE!
