We are in Northfield visiting friends and family. Our first evening we met friends for a bite and an Adult beverage. We enjoyed an evening on the deck overlooking the river, which was very pleasant. The best part was a delightful gentleman named Adam! He was new to the restaurant, but is not only professional in his service, in the dining area but also with his bartender skills. He made our visit to the Riverside a very enjoyable evening, we will return and hope that Adam will be working!

Everything was great except for one incident. This is a wonderful place with excellent food. However, during my second visit, I had an unusual experience with the bartenders. While they were friendly during my first visit, the second time they asked who had served me the drink, and after I answered, they told me I couldn’t stay and needed to finish my drink quickly and leave. It felt a bit off and unexpected.

I came in with my husband a few months ago, and I was debating on making a review or not. I don’t want to sound rude nor bitter. I normally don’t rate things under a 5 star unless necessary. But unfortunately this place I had too. The service that me and my husband got wasn’t the greatest. It was like she was just wanting us to leave. She gave no drink suggestions nor food suggestions. It was just unfortunate. I’m used to having really good service wherever we go. But this just wasn’t that case here. The bathrooms were so so. Weren’t the cleanest but weren’t the dirtiest. I feel bad enough rating this restaurant 4/5 stars. I don’t want to doc another star just for maybe an off day of service or an off day of keeping up with the bathrooms. I will definitely try coming back sometime in the future.
