Today we made the drive to Independence, Iowa to try Chuong Garden Chinese Restaurant. We arrived around 1:40 p.m. and had the place to ourselves. The menu is huge with every option you can think of. We ordered off the lunch menu served daily until 3:00 p.m. A real bargin and large variety of options. The lunch special came with your choice of their three soups. We both opted for the Egg Drop soup. WOW, we both agreed hands down the best Egg Drop soup we have ever had, and we have had a lot of Egg Drop soup. My spouse had the Chicken Broccoli plate and the chicken was melt in your mouth delicious! Again, best and most tender chicken we have had, and the flavor was amazing! The waiter recommended the Seseme Chicken. It was good, but not my favorite Seseme Chicken. I had an Egg Roll and it was good, spouse had the Crab Rangoon and it was not her favorite. Many like it here so it is a personal preference I’m sure on the Seseme Chicken and Crab Rangoon. The staff was very helpful and polite, the facility was very clean as were the restrooms. I/we gave it 5 stars all the way around and we will definitely be back to try other plates. Stop by when traveling through Independence, Iowa.

This restaurant is in a net location downtown near the river. It has lots of seating and is very clean. The staff was very nice and attentive. The food was very good! The beef was meaty and tender. I got triple delight that was very good. No buffet but fancier and better food.

We had lunch today: appetizers of crab meat rangoons (hot and delicious) fried dumplings (hot and delicious) and main course Kung Pao chicken which was very good and the hot and sour soup was excellent. We also had combination Chop Suey which I could not finish ( plenty of food per serving!) but was delicious.

Crab lagoons are amazing. Ordered spicy sweet soup never got. The daughter ordered sesame chicken and wasn’t very good. Manchester choung garden sesame chicken is better. I had Kong fu chicken. This dish was good. Waitress acted like she was afraid to serve and take orders

Wasn’t too impressed with the main course I got Shrimp with seasoned vegitables, it was lacking in flavor. The dumplings were good, but Wasn’t too impressed with their dipping sauce, very sweet.

I do not recommend. I found a metal shaving in my food. Alerted the kitchen folks and didn’t get any confidence that the rest of food didn’t have shavings and got charged for our meals!

I had lunch with a friend. I had the shrimp with seasonal vegetables, and she had the sweet and sour chicken, a lo mein. We had an appetizer of crab Rangoon, and each dish was served with an egg roll. All the food was delicious and the service was excellent. They haven’t improved on the decor at all, it’s very dated. But if you want good Chinese, I would definitely recommend it.

Mom & I stumbled across this hidden gem while visiting family in the area. Our server was very friendly & personable. He admitted to not knowing exactly what was in one dish we were interested in, but quickly offered to ask the chef & came back with the details. We split an order of fried dumplings, which were excellent. I had the Mongolian Beef & Mom had the General Tso Chicken. Both dishes were flavorful & delicious. We wound up meeting the chef as we were leaving and thanked him for a wonderful meal. Will DEFINITELY go back there the next time we’re in the area!

Food was hot . Crab ragoons use to have more filling in them . Service was good. Beer was flat . The customers behind us , said this isn’t a sports bar, why you need TV on . We didn’t respond to their stupidity . Learn to keep your mouth shut .
