Opened a second location in Kapahulu, New Kamana Kitchen provides a range of Indian cuisine options including catering, carryout, and delivery to suit your needs. Whether you’re craving a quick bite or planning a large event, they can work with you on your needs.

Was in Waikiki and decided to take a short drive to check out the new Kapahulu location.

Ordered the garlic cheese naan which is cheese stuffed naan with minced garlic on top. Some of the top garlic naan I’ve tried on the island. Crispy exterior with fresh garlic, herbs and stuffed with cheese.

Ordered the chicken tiki masala and chicken biryani which came with big portion size. We ended up having leftovers. Tiki masala was a little sweeter tomato base than I’ve normally had but it was still delicious.

Service was great and it was good to see the restaurant run by family. Food was delicious as well.

Free parking spots located in the back but it is limited. First come first serve.

Came here for dinner. It is an easy walk from most Waikiki hotels and a pleasant one on the Ala Wai Blvd by the canal. The restaurant itself isn’t particularly nice or have great ambiance, it feels old and tired from the outside and the inside as well. There was plenty of seating and we were told to pick any booth.

The service was generally pleasant and efficient. We were given a menu – pretty generic stuff – and picked a meal quickly. They do not serve alcohol at this restaurant. However, all the dishes are served with rice!

The meal arrived quickly. It was hot and the taste was OK. Satisfies the craving for Indian food – something only a Naan and daal can do! Nothing much more beyond that.

 Awesome Chicken and Cool Views!
I checked out this restaurant on a Sunday, which was great because the parking outside was free!

 The Best Parts!
Tandoori Chicken: This was totally the boss! It was super juicy and they gave me a big, generous piece. You absolutely cannot go wrong if you order the Tandoori Chicken.

The Room: The dining room is huge! It has giant windows, so you can sit there, eat your meal, and watch all the cars and people going by. It was super cool to people-watch!

Basmati Rice: It tasted fantastic! It was yummy, but you should look at it first. Mine had a sticky clump, and it looked a bit gross until I broke it up. Even so, it tasted great!

Garlic Naan: Perfect, crispy on the outside, soft and very on the inside. Comfort food for sure!

Servers: All the waiters were really nice gentlemen. They were very helpful.

 Not My Favorite!
Pistachio Ice Cream: It was okay, but I wasn’t super impressed by it.

Masala Chai Tea: I have experience making this tea at home, and this one was awful. I thought it tasted terrible. Maybe you’ll like it, but I don’t think you should order it!

Came here to try the lamb biriyani and it did not disappoint! It was spicy, flavorful, and super tasty. Our server, Ali, was really funny and made the whole experience even better. Wonderful service and great food!

Overall, my meal fell short of expectations. On the positive side, the paneer had a good texture—it wasn’t the ‘hard’ consistency that others have mentioned in their reviews. However, the dish completely lacked depth of flavor. Even though I specifically ordered it spicy, there was no real heat or seasoning to speak of. Ultimately, it was a disappointing dish that fell flat on flavor

A solid 4* for this eatery. The butter chicken was a bit sweet, but in a tasty way. The chicken Korma was very dry, not nearly as good as the butter chicken. Both the nan and roti were good. Parking are available only on the streets around the restaurant. The seating area was plentiful, but not very inspiring. The service was decent, but as noted by other reviewers that it’s on the slow side.

I don’t usually write bad reviews but this places food was just bad. Lamb was cooked again, taste like cardboard, and just put on sizzling plate for show. Even the Naan was reheated on microwave as it had no crispness and just soggy flat. Maybe their chicken is a little better, but I wouldn’t experiment again.

Best Indian Cusine on Oahu!

Note to chef: Butter Chicken base was a little sweet but everything else was exceptional. Perfect grilled tandoori chicken. Mahalo for bringing true Indian cuisine to this island.
