A very nice little restaurant near the station, our first visit to it last night having sampled most of the other restaurants in Winchester in the centre at one time or another. The restaurant has a nice cosy feel to it once inside, with well spaced tables. The menu was a comprehensive mix of traditional and special dishes. We had a few wafer thin poppadoms which were delicious, then the Paneer Korma, which was in a nice light tasty sauce and Lamb Passanda, similarly tasty. We shared a mushroom rice. Drinks were very good value, espcially the wine. Friendly, efficient service and a very acceptable bill at the end. Nothing not to like, a most enjoyable evening here so we will return.

We ordered a big delivery for 12 people and once again the food was absolutely amazing. Everything was incredibly flavoursome, fresh, and so tasty. The order arrived right on time, the portions were generous, and they even threw in some free extras which was really appreciated. The staff are always so lovely and helpful on the phone, and the delivery drivers are friendly and polite. Their website is also really easy to use, which makes ordering for a large group stress-free. We’ve ordered from here many times and it’s consistently excellent. Highly recommend!

Light of Bengal in Winchester has definitely earned its spot as my go to restaurant. The food quality is always exceptional, and every meal I’ve had there has been spot on. One of the things I love most about this place is the open kitchen it’s not just about the food it’s about the whole experience. Being able to watch the chefs prepare my meal adds a personal touch, and it’s reassuring to see how carefully everything is made. The consistency here is amazing they’ve never disappointed me, and I always leave feeling satisfied. It’s definitely a place I can rely on when I’m craving delicious and high quality food

Easily the best Indian takeaway around

Honestly, this place never lets us down. The food is always full of flavour, smells amazing as soon as you open the bag, and tastes like it’s been cooked with real care, not rushed out the door.

The curries are rich and comforting, the meat is always tender, and the spices are spot on — flavourful without being overpowering. The naan is soft and fresh, the rice is light and fluffy, and even the little extras like sauces and sides are really good.

Portion sizes are generous, everything arrives hot, and it’s always well packaged. The staff are friendly and reliable, which makes ordering from here an easy choice every time.

If you’re thinking about ordering, do it — you won’t be disappointed. This has become our go-to Indian takeaway and we’ll definitely keep coming back.

I ordered my curry through Just Eat. And I’ve ordered several times from this restaurant the was absolutely delicious. I chose the curry that had chicken and mango with pilau rice. It arrived at 17.50. around 1 o’clock in the morning I was violently sick. I was most fortunate because I was able to get rid of most of it. I had a tummy ache throughout the night but I’m pleased to say the following morning I felt a lot better. I contacted the restaurant and left a voicemail stating I wasn’t causing trouble. I simply wanted to alert them that this had happened to me so that they could look into it to prevent anybody else suffering the same situation I’ve heard nothing from them a great pity all around

We had a delightful evening for a group of 8. The staff were excellent and super friendly, we were made very welcomed. The restaurant was clean with good decoration and a had a really nice vibe. The food was excellent and really delicious. I ordered the railway lamb which was recommended and it didn’t disappoint. Keema naan had all the flavour you could hope for and the aloo gobi had a brilliant blend of spices. Just delicious. Really is a delightful restaurant at a fair price. Will go back the next time I visit Winchester.
