All of the dishes were well executed and very tasty. The meat cuts were prime and the lamb chops may be the best in North America. If you like lamb, you’ve gotta try these especially at this price point.
It’s great to sit at a fancy steak house and taste your way through the kitchen all at a reasonable price. It’s not cheap compared to Outback but it is well worth the price for the food and service. Did I mention how awesome David at the bar was? Of course I did.
Our host, Sean, was incredibly attentive, fun to talk to, and knew a lot about the items on the menu. He explained preparation for the dishes very well, and gave us recommendations on complementary sides.
I ordered the Kona Crusted Bone-in NY Strip, which was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The onion butter was out of this world, and the steak was perfectly cooked.
Our table shared mashed potatoes and soy-glazed brussel sprouts, bot of which were outstanding sides.
Simply couldn’t ask for a nicer meal to bring in the new year. Thank you!
What I love most about The Capital Grille is the welcome. It’s very much “we know you could have chosen anywhere else, and we’re genuinely glad you chose us — now sit back and let us take care of everything.”
Basically Beauty and the Beast vibes… minus the singing cutlery.
Our server Sean was absolutely fantastic — a real credit to the Grille. Warm, funny, patient, and polished. I’m softly spoken (especially in loud environments), and instead of frustration, he handled it with care — politely confirming what he’d heard rather than the dreaded “what?”.
He was equally attentive to his other tables too — even the anxious, high-maintenance one featuring a woman with the facial expression of a bulldog chewing a wasp. Service personified. Model everyone on him. I approve.
Food highlights:
• Fresh onion soup — rich and delicious
• Filet mignon — cooked perfectly, exactly as requested
• Creamed spinach & sautéed potatoes — yes please
They surprised Brian with a birthday plate featuring cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake. I helped. Both were excellent.
From the food to the ambiance to the genuine hospitality — this was a full dining experience.
Though… some people rocking up in lululemon leggings? Not quite the dress code energy for somewhere this lovely.
Steaks were on point, and paired well with the roasted wild mushrooms! Parmesan truffle fries were a bit mid, not very crispy. Tbh the sides are supposed to be shareable but portions are honestly small.
I did really like the Seared Scallops, seasoned very well, and balanced flavors!
