Pho 1 in Simi Valley is the most authentic pho restaurant I have ever been in. Sometimes they will play Vietnam music on the background to add to the atmosphere. It feels just like being in Vietnam. The beef soup is rich with flavor, absolutely being brewed the right way. Order number 19 if you are the all beef kind of person. Remember you can ask for no onion or cilantro on the side whatever fits your appetite. The bbq beef sandwich is perfectly made: bread is very fresh, toasted very crunchy and the bbq beef is well seasoned. Make sure to tell the waiter/waitress no jalapeños if you don’t like spice. We also always order the egg rolls which are perfectly fried with beef inside. Their veggies including the lettuce, Thai basil, and bean sprout are all very fresh. I am not sure if they get them from the farmers directly or what, these are the freshest greens I have ever had in a restaurant. We actually live about 20 miles away, but for this authentic pho place, we will drive over whenever we get the pho cravings. If you haven’t done so , come visit this pho location and try out the dishes I have attached in this post!

I stopped in for the first time and ordered the beef phở, and it turned out to be one of the best bowls I’ve ever had. The portion was huge—there’s barely any difference between the small and the large, and the large is only about $1.50 more. The broth had that deep, slow-cooked flavor you only get in true family-run Vietnamese kitchens, and the beef was tender and plentiful.

The restaurant itself feels comfortable and private, and despite being very busy, the service was extremely fast. My waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive. Since it was my first visit, she took the time to explain different dishes, made thoughtful recommendations, and checked on me often without ever being intrusive.

I also tried the vegetable spring roll with tofu, and it was excellent—very fresh, crisp, and paired with a dipping sauce that was full of flavor. They also serve a homemade chili sauce that’s on another level; it has that perfect balance of heat and depth. And the sauce that came with the “right claw” was surprisingly rich and delicious, adding a unique touch to the meal.

Everything about this place reflects genuine Vietnamese hospitality. It’s clearly family-owned, and you can tell they put care into every detail—from the food to the service. Overall, a five-star experience. If you want top-quality, authentic Vietnamese food without flying all the way to Vietnam, this is the spot.

Pho So 1 is amazing. There’s a reason it’s always busy!

The interior is one large open room, packed with tables and wood paneling. It feels vintage but cozy.

The menu has around 30 variations of pho (different combinations of beef, then also chicken, veggie, and shrimp). And it’s all delicious. The broth has a rich flavor, the portions are large for the price, and the toppings complete the package. In particular, the jalapenos are consistently as hot as habanero peppers. I don’t know who their supplier is but I love it!!

The menu also includes rice dishes, noodle plates, bahn mi, and beverages. I’ve never had anything disappointing.

Finally, when you pay, it’s like magic. You walk up to the host stand and they just… Have the total. They don’t ask anything, they don’t check with each other. They must have the host watching like a hawk paying attention to who is sitting where. It’s subtle, but really really cool.

I stopped by here to grab dinner after I left my work on a Sunday since I had to help out a client. I found parking easily in the plaza this store is in. When I walked inside, it took the worker a while to acknowledge me. They didn’t sit me until another guest arrived after me and they seated them first.

The lady sat me next to the TV so I was able to watch some football. I been to the Granada Hills and Mission Hills location already so I was familiar with the menu. I got the pho number 1 and asked for a coke. My drink came out first and the man who brought me my drink did not interact with me at all. I think there might be a language barrier.

The next man brought out my phone soon afterwards and he was more talkative. My pho soup was delicious and they give you a decent amount. The price is also very reasonable but the soda was more on the expensive end. The women who seated me brought me my bill so I didn’t have to walk to the front to pay. I would come back to this location again but I now know to not get a soda from here.

Have had a lot of Viet food and their egg roll vermicelli was fresh, delicious, and authentic. Came out quick, meat was marinated just right, and the egg rolls were excellent. The only suggestion is to serve the same portion in a bigger bowl to make it easier to mix everything. Would definitely eat here again

This has been about the fouth time that we visited this restaurant and it gets better every time. The service is fast, friendly, and always there for you to make sure you have a great dining experience. The food is always cooked well with a generous portion. They provide beef, rice, and pork noodle soup. They have rice dishes, specials, and egg noodle soup. With a diverse selection of desserts and beverages. Pho, a Vietnamese noodle soup, is defined by its aromatic broth, tender meat, rice noodles, and fresh herbs. The broth is typically a rich, flavorful stock made from beef or chicken bones, infused with spices like cinnamon, star anise, and cloves, and simmered for hours. Banh pho, the flat rice noodles, are a key component, along with various cuts of meat (beef, chicken, or tofu), and fresh garnishes like bean sprouts, basil, and lime. The overall quality of pho is often judged by the depth and clarity of the broth, the tenderness of the meat, and the freshness of the herbs and accompaniments. There is a great flavor profile that has a subtle sweetness, savory notes from the broth, and aromatic spices. The texture of the meat is tender with soft noodles and a balance of textures from the fresh herbs and toppings. I recommend this restaurant, and I will be a returning customer.

I come here once a week when I work in Simi. I have for at least 15 years. It is one of my favorites, and no other Pho restaurants compare. The owners and staff are attentive, quick, fun, and love their job. The waiters know my order and have it out to my table in no time. Don’t wait any longer, go and check them out. You won’t regret it!

Dined there last night by myself (11/13/2025). Seated right away. Took my order pretty quickly, then my food was on my table in under five minutes. It was nice and hot, they had the obligatory basil leaves, lemon wedge, bean sprouts, jalapeno slices, etc. I didn’t see a beef pho menu item that featured meat balls and rare steak, but I asked for it and they did it no issues.
It was my fourth time going, and each time is a success. Keep up the great work!

First time here and it did not disappoint!! My husband and I enjoyed the food and our experience! Even for a busy night, we got seated fairly quickly! Ordered just moments after we got sat and food came out in a flash! Excited we found a new place to dine & order takeout from! 10/10 recommend!
