Phenomenal food, stellar service. We casually mentioned that we are celebrating our anniversary and they gave us free dessert and took our photo!!

Super cute exterior welcoming warm inside with ample space. Extremely friendly owner/manager who made his way around often checking in and making conversation with everyone.

Large menu with something for everyone.

Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. Decent vegetarian options – not the best I’ve had at a Mexican restaurant but the food was delicious. My carnivore family devoured steak and chicken enchiladas, tacos and fajitas.

The jalapeño margarita was great and spicy!!

We will definitely be back next trip!

Visited the Golden Jalapeno today for the first time and wasn’t disappointed! It was delicious! The street corn and watermelon fennel soup were delicious! We also got the taco al pastor tacos ….the meat was so juicy and tender and flavorful! The fried mango and ice cream is was to die for! The service was great and the atmosphere was nice too! We will definitely be returning!

Wonderful evening our table was visited by the owner several times, taking our orders himself. Friendly atmosphere, comfortable historic home setting. Tastefully decorated appropriately. The food served promptly was great! Reasonably priced. A refreshing experience, will be returning soon.

I stopped in here for lunch today with my aide, and both of us were delighted with the food. The only problem that we had at the table was my dinner, which arrived cold. I had ordered the Carne Asada tacos and had never before in many, many years been served them cold. I really think these tacos would have been outstanding if they had been served warm. But my friend’s quesadilla was beyond outstanding. It was absolutely yummy with shrimp and mango and cheese, etc. Now that dish, I highly recommend!

We flipped a coin and ended up here and we were lucky we did. We loved the place.

We started with the elotes. It was delicious with just the right amount of spice, plenty of flavor, and just a hint of lime.

I ordered fried fish tacos and my wife got a kind of Mexican omelette (I don’t remember the name of the dish and I don’t see it on their online menu). Both were very good. Egg dishes are often rather bland but this one was packed with flavor.

The building appears to be an old house and feels very homey. It was comfortable with plenty of natural light.

Our visit was during the post lunch/pre-dinner lull so it wasn’t busy. We had a very pleasant conversation with the server (owner, maybe? We didn’t see anyone else working while we were there) and another diner.

If we lived in the area, we would probably be regulars here. Overall, just a pleasant experience.

Please checkout this place if you have the chance, well spent money on good food and great people.
Have been here a few times, really great service, the owner is so kind and comes by to every table to ask how everyone is doing. The owner is very dedicated to providing a great experience at the restaurant.
Service was great- only downfall was it was a bit loud in the dining room from the noise at the bar, at some points couldn’t hear our waiter.
Food is incredible, very authentic. Margaritas are big & delicious.
A lot of people in the dining room who were finishing up at the same time as us all got a complimentary slice of cake, which was one of the best piece of cake we’ve ever had. Very delicious and unique.

My wife and I ate there tonight.
Great friendly place. We ordered Chimichangas to see how they compared to our local Mexican restaurant. Wow. They were nothing like them. So different. But very good. The make everything to order. And it really shows. The manager(owner?) Came to our table and asked us if everything was to our liking. Had Churros for desert Excellent. Crunchy on the outside and hot on the inside. Can’t say enough about them. We’ll be back!

First time here! My wife and I are fussy Mexican food eaters/snobs after a 17 year stint in CA. We split a chicken burrito and the chicken tortilla soup – both were excellent. Draft beer would be nice, but the Modelo was cold and wet, so hey! Give it a shot (of tequila:)

Delighted to stumble on this excellent and authentic Mexican restaurant somewhat incongruously tucked into a victorian mansion on 6A. The portions were generous and very reasonably priced. The seafood paella was the best Ive had in a long time—see the pic. We also had fajitas and a diablo salad and all were delicious. Plus the portions were large enough to enjoy leftovers the next day. Friendly staff. We will definitely be back.
