First time here. Overall loved it there. The inside is comfy and not loud. We were seated right away. When you walk in, you are greeted by not only the staff but a bakery window of delicious looking desserts. The food was delicious. I had the Strawberry Ricotta French Toast and my friend had the Irish Benedict. The staff were super friendly. We plan to try their after hours menu soon.

Wonderful breakfast spot – Woke
Delicious, lots of options, and quick service. We arrived at 8 am on a Saturday and there was no wait. Cute little local spot ❤️

Do not waste your time or money here. We made multiple comments that we were only coming in for drinks. After we got our drinks, we were then told we needed to order food in order to stay. The server said food didn’t need to be ordered for everyone, so we ordered home fries and a dessert. Nowhere did I see this stated or listed in the restaurant for easy viewing.
A few minutes later, the manager came over acting unprofessional and visibly upset, insinuating that what we ordered wasn’t sufficient and pushing us to order more, despite the fact that we had already complied. This was on a Thursday morning with only one other table in the restaurant, which made the situation feel completely unnecessary. After repeatedly asking for to-go cups, she finally said we could stay “just this once,” as if she were doing us a favor.
To top it off, the food wasn’t even good.
I will not be returning. Management clearly doesn’t know what they are doing, If you think this is a one time situation read the other reviews. If you’re considering going here, save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else! PS server was wonderful and attentive absolutely no issues with her and I hope she finds a better work environment.

Worst experience ever. Brought a friend here from out of town. We were rudely informed we couldn’t order just coffee and dessert. I have been in the restaurant business for over 40 years and I understand being so busy, that it’s difficult to accomodate everyone. However, this doesn’t seem to be an isolated experience with other folks mentioning in their reviews feeling rushed or otherwise uncomfortable and unwelcome. (And those are just the ones who take the time to leave a review). I really enjoy supporting local businesses and especially good restaurants. I hope this restaurant can prioritize customers and not dollars, otherwise both might evaporate.

I was up in the area for a recent basketball game between the UConn men’s basketball team and Georgetown. My brother and sister invited us out for breakfast bragging on a wonderful breakfast spot that they have patronized on numerous occasions. Me being from out of town I was excited because my family wanted to take me to this wonderful restaurant. We entered and it was a quintet restaurant we were seated promptly and the waitress was wonderful and very friendly and attentive. We place our orders and within 20 to 30 minutes the food arrived. We are still enjoying ourselves making small talk within our family group and I went to cut into my pancakes and they were rubbery a little over done. So our waitress came back over and I tried to explain to her that I wanted my pancakes recooked, now keep in mind I took one bite out of the pancakes so barely even eaten. So I am waiting for my food to come back out and the small insignificant little man emerged from the kitchen screaming and yelling at me for wanting my pancakes recooked. Needless to say I was embarrassed in front of the whole restaurant. The line cook that emerged from the kitchen could not hold a candle to the Waffle House cooks that take great pride in their customer service. If you’re ever in Storrs for the UConn basketball games please disregard this restaurant. No one should be treated that way when they are spending their money with an establishment. The insignificant cook that came out the kitchen claimed to be the owner of the restaurant. It’s amazing that the place is still in business the waitress was left crying her eyes out saying he treats us like we are nothing. The way the small insignificant individual treats his customers and staff is so alarming.

Great place, great vibe, great food!
Stopped in after collecting our son from college who recommended this place to us. I wish I had known about this place sooner.
Food was really good and highly recommend.
Decor was really nice and love the booths. I was a little disappointed that breakfast sandwiches were only a to go item, not sure why. However saying that I really enjoyed the classic combo. I found a lot of the options are sweet rather than savory so maybe keep that in mind.
Definitely

This is a take-out order review for Woke After Hours Burgers and Desserts. I’ve come for breakfast many, many times and really enjoyed it (shoutout to the crepes especially the Peaches & Cream!), so I was excited to order dinner.
I ordered the After Hours Burger (pineapple, bacon, chipotle sauce, sauteed onion) with the ground beef patty and an Oreo milkshake.
I’m not usually a burger person…but this was a really, really good burger! If you look at Woke’s social media you’ll see there is a LOT packed in a burger. There’s something about the taste & texture of the patty combined with the melty Oaxaca cheese that really hits different compared with your other burger options in this area. Everything else in the burger was also great but it helps a lot that the base of the burger itself – the patty plus cheese – is moist and packed with flavor.
The burger came with waffle fries which were crisp and flavorful. The Oreo milkshake was also creamy and very Oreo-y just as you’d hope.
Overall I really enjoyed my order and I’m excited to try some of the other burgers on the menu in the future. (Or the crepes – so happy that those made it to the dinner menu!)

I’ve never dined in but I usually order a coffee to go. So my experience may be vastly different than others. I’ve only ever received pleasant experiences here. There was one time I got the side eye from the owner when I pointed out that I had ordered an iced latte and received a hot latte. I never order hot, I don’t like hot coffee. I checked my receipt to make sure I didn’t make a mistake ordering online. I didn’t.
Having said that, I really wish you would take these one star reviews into consideration. Just about all of them have the same problem, rudeness from the owner and being rushed out. I know you didn’t get the warmest of welcomes from the small percentage of red necks in this town, but I hope it’s not too late to maybe try and be a little more patient. I enjoy having a tiny taste of Texas up here in Connecticut, no where else can you get chilaquiles and a tres leche latte!

There was about a 30 min wait when we went and it sounds like you can expect a 30-60 min wait usually.
I would’ve given 5 stars, but the wait is kind of long.
The restaurant is warm and cosy, and the servers were very nice & helpful.
The food took a while to come, but it’s worth the wait. It was delicious and healthier than a lot of other restaurants.
The menu is a little expensive, but pretty good for the quality.
There was Ketchup, Syrup, Sweeteners, Salt & Pepper, Strawberry & Blueberry jelly at the tables.
It is very clean and modern looking.

We decided to give Woke a try for brunch and were pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. Right from the start, the waitstaff impressed us with their friendliness and attentive service. As for the food, it was truly excellent. I opted for the Woke Benedict, which is Eggs Benedict with Chorizo, and my son enjoyed the delightful Chocolate Chip Pancakes. Both dishes were incredibly flavorful and satisfying. In fact, even our friends couldn’t help but comment on how delicious their own meals were. Woke is truly a hidden gem that I highly recommend trying out.
