I was so excited for this experience despite the reviews but I DID read the reviews so it may be more on me? I ordered Chilaquiles and my fiance ordered a Chicken Teriyaki bowl.

The Pros:
-You can tell the owner is trying ‍♀️
-The service, albeit slow even at the start with less than 15 people on the rooftop, was still decent
-I reported the problems with my food and they fixed it; naturally they offered me something different and we declined
-They were very apologetic and kept bringing us mimosa bottles (we had a bottomless brunch)

The Cons:
-Plastic cutlery (and by cutlery I mean they give you a fork. Maybe ask beforehand for the full trifecta of cutlery IF they have it)
-My sunny side up eggs were literal blobs of overcooked yolk and the sauce for the chilaquiles were flavorless. The chips I cant explain but the whole dish was wrong. I took one bite and sent it back
-My fiances chicken teriyaki bowl had a hair in it. Not on the top of the bowl. In the middle.
-The portions are sad
-The decor is dated
-No traditional mimosa of champagne & orange juice. You get the 7-11 bottle of premixed mimosa
-The music level is insane; they can literally take it down a decibel or two
-The view is lackluster
-It seemed like everyone was late to work today. Saw people trickle in slowly as the place began to fill up
-Food is brought up in warming boxes so the food temperature is barely below hot
-Asked for two glasses of water and only got one
-The watermelon juice for the mimosas (they ran out temporarily of the pre mixed mimosas) tasted and smelled like pure soap

Overall: We got this deal on Groupon and I suggest you do too because full price isnt worth it. They ended up removing the meals from the bill. We left a tip still, of course, because the food being terrible was not the servers fault. I think the owner can stand for a little bit of rebranding because I see the vision but the execution falls short. All in all, I would only do this place for cocktails if all other places were exhausted. For food or brunch? I would not return for.

I I recently visited Cielo Rooftop Lounge in San Diego for brunch, and I was excited to try out this spot after finding it on Google Maps—it looked pretty awesome! I really wanted to try their food. When my friends and I arrived, the host, Cici informed us that there would be a wait of 45 minutes to an hour for a table.

After an hour had passed, we decided to check in with her again, only to be told that there was still a wait of another 20 to 30 minutes. We patiently waited an additional 30 minutes and returned for a second update, at which point she bluntly stated that there were no tables available at that time due to incoming reservations.

In the meantime, we ordered the bottomless mimosas for $20 per person, which were delicious, and the service was friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was lively and fun, with great music that added to the overall experience.

While the host could have done a better job managing expectations regarding the wait times, I still recommend Cielo Rooftop Lounge if you’re in San Diego and looking for a vibrant rooftop spot with fantastic music and a lively atmosphere. Just be prepared for potential wait times! I’m reading three stars based on my experience and I hope this issue is fixed in the future! Thanks management.

AVOID THIS ROOFTOP LOUNGE! We made a stop here when on girl’s trip after dinner. We had a reservation and were sat at a table. Service was slow, and she rarely checked in on us, not to mention two drink orders were wrong. Once finally getting her attention to close out our tab, the server didn’t give us an itemized view before running our card that she required we put down. Once we looked at the mobile receipt, there were multiple food items we were charged for that were not ours! We ordered no food. I reached out the next day and it seemed like they were going to rectify the situation. I’ve made repeated attempts to get in touch with someone since and have received absolutely no follow-up and no refund. There are too many other options in the Gaslamp area that offer better service and better follow-up when they make an error. Avoid this business!

Tried this place for the first time on a Saturday. For the entire time there wasn’t really many customer there. Which wasn’t really the issue, it was more or less the windy atmosphere and the overhead fixtures that keep coming a loose and making lots of noise.

HOWEVER!! The experience was definitely made by the wonderful customer service we got. The servers were really friendly and fun. They would be the reason I would come back! The food was tasty and their deals are great! Would recommend this place for a sunny brunch day.

Margarita flight stand came covered in dust and grime. Drink glasses had debris along the outside and hair on a couple of the glasses. Some of the food came out like warm. The DJ is nice thought.

This place is incredible! We had Andrea as our server and she made the experience even more amazing. My cousin is celebrating her bachelorette party this weekend and Cielo Rooftop has been my favorite spot by far. The Mexican Candy Shot, Mango Lemon Drop shot, mimosa bottle ($10 during happy hour) and the calamari are TO DIE FOR! Thank you Cielo and thank you Andrea for an amazing experience!! Until next time… xoxo, Naomi

Cielo Rooftop Lounge is an absolute vibe! The atmosphere is a VIBE. Perfect mix of chill and classy. The 3 buenaveza beer steal tacos are my favorite and the food is delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented, and every dish hits the spot. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, which really adds to the experience. Went to paint and sip for my sister’s birthday on Wednesday and back at it for Sunday for my birthday. Whether you’re going for a girls’ day out, a night event, or just want good food and great energy, Cielo never disappoints. Highly recommend!
