Wonderful, family owned Japanese restaurant in the middle of Portland. I’d wanted to go to this place for a while now but was hesitant because I never saw too many cars there (must have been the time of day). Staff are very inviting and friendly. Food was great. Sushi was excellent…made to order. Prices are very reasonable. Can’t wait to come back!

They are geniuses. This is a perfectly hidden, exquisite gem. They surely have precisely what they need for these recipes, and little else, because they are using some expensive ingredients. I ordered Chicken Katsu, Yakisoba with sauce on the side, Chicken and Fried Rice with Teriyaki sauce. An Eel roll, Seafood roll, and a Philadelphia roll. I put “I love eel” as part of my note, and they gave me extra eel sauce. I also got yumyum sauce, and oyster sauce (by request, free) and oh my… I was shocked, it was amazing, this is definitely home made sauce. I have never tasted better in my life. I’m going to be supporting Bento more, for sure. Just incredible. Please try it next time you’re considering some Japanese food.

This would have to be one of my least favorite sushi joints I’ve ever been to lol. It’s not terrible, it’s just not great. We waited almost an hour for our food and the chicken hibachi was definitely just mediocre at best. The sushi was flavorful and seemed to be fresher than I was expecting. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant was less than desirable. The floors in some spots looked like they hadn’t been touched in weeks. The girl that took our order was not helpful at all lol. I asked her a question about the menu and she shrugged her shoulders and said “I don’t know”. Ok lol. She won’t win a customer service award anytime soon, she did apologize for my wait which was surprising lol. It was pretty steady with customers tho so it must’ve just been a mishap on our part possibly?

This is a hole-in-the-wall place with yummy hibachi and chicken-on-a-stick! We get the steak, chicken and shrimp and have never been unhappy. The random cooked carrots are… Well, random. We don’t eat those. The fried rice is delicious. It’s nothing fancy but the food is good.

I was extremely impressed with this place!!! The food was ready way faster than I expected. Portion sizes were way bigger than we expected, and everything tasted amazing! Exceeded expectations and then some, and the workers were so kind and warm!!! 100% would recommend and well for sure be back next time we are in TN! Thank you so much!!!
