Wow y’all this place has one of the top fried chicken sandwiches I’ve tried. Intense flavor, perfectly crispy, good heat levels. I went to Nashville and tried a handful of reputable hot chicken sandwiches and they were okkayyyy. Flew the Coop is tasty, and it’s consistent, I went a handful of times and it was very good every time. It’s attached to a gas station which is unusual but it’s a normal fast casual type restaurant inside. The service was good, pretty basic order at the counter thing but the same guys seemed to be there each time we went, they were nice, helpful, and didn’t get stuff wrong. In my opinion it’s a top restaurant in the area in terms of taste/consistency/price and generally a really top notch fried chicken place. Good fries too, a nice level of salt without being over the top. Don’t get there late though, I’ve seen the door locked up before closing time, at closing time they are out of there, not starting to close it down.

Amazing place. Been visiting on way to and from Sedona at last location, new location even better. Best chicken sandwich in the state from what we’ve had. The thighs are huge difference from the other places. Flavor on the rub is great. Wife gets Jens, I get med or hot, all heats have great flavor. New bbq is good too, everything we’ve had here in many visits is awesome. Great staff, easy parking, good place. Highly recommend.

Typically, I don’t like the Cayenne pepper style of hot chicken but this was pretty good. The mac was creamy and the style that I prefer. Unfortunately, I didn’t look at the whole menu and realized after I ordered they had pulled pork sandwiches available. Would definitely go back again.

NO COMPLAINTS!! My all time favorite is the Coop Style Mac and Cheese with the spice level are you clucking serious? Really brings the heat and food is fresh. Love watching them make my food. Definitely will be back. Highly recommend! Staff is great too.

“Pleasantly surprised!!” Never judge a book by its cover…We’ve driven past Flew the Coop since it opened and chalked it up to another fast food spot, and decided to keep on driving. BOY, WE WERE WRONG!! It’s a real Nashville style chicken restaurant. Side options and all. The food is freshly made while you wait (it might take some time to prepare your order). It’s absolutely delicious!! The staff is friendly and helpful. The interior feels like a road trip stop joint, loaded with red, black, and white themed decorations. I had the chicken sandwich (medium level), and it was perfect, just a smidgen of heat. My wife had a grilled chicken meal mild. She liked the fried okra. We were both very happy with our meals and will definitely be back.

This place is one of the best places to come to the VOC in a long time! Prices are fair and for the portions you get it is worth it!!! BBQ is great, but the shinning star of this place is the chicken, any of it, all of it! The Sammie is KING!!! The fries are always crisp, the dippies are amazing! I don’t know what the Campfire has in it but it is so good. Service is always great! I do wanna say, know your level when it comes to the spice, and don’t leave a bad review because it was “Too hot!” Owner has like 3 signs everywhere saying, know your heat level. I’m a local and have had delivery, take out, dine in. Eaten from here about 10 times always on point!

I’ve been to many Nashville hot chicken places, and this stands head and shoulders above the rest in recent memory. The chicken sizes are huge, and the batter is perfectly crisp and seasoned. The spice levels seem to skew towards the milder side. The medium spice level tasted more like mild. The sides are great with good portion sizes. The fried okra and french fries were especially good. The macaroni and cheese was decent but the cheese could use a bit more complexity. The banana cream pie was probably the weakest part of this dinner. The pie was okay but could use a more substantial banana base. But since this is a chicken place, I’m giving it five stars because the chicken is seriously that good.

Tried them out on a random weekday in August. We were the only patrons during our stay. We both had the “mild” chicken sandwich, one with fries, the other with coleslaw. The platters arrived fresh and hot and it was good, the chicken breast freshly cooked, moist, with a crunchy crust. And as much as we like spicy, the spicy heat was too much for a “mild” classified sandwich though. And we ended up leaving much of our meal behind. Everything had a little too much spice, especially for a “mild” selection. Even the cole slaw was too spicy. But it was all fresh, the service was efficient and you have views of the rocks even if you are in front of a gas station. Its a valuable addition to the VOC restaurants!

Got here at 8:45 pm, still greeted us and served us. I used to work in fast food and I know how difficult it could be to serve someone when you’re fixing to close. Chicken was great, sweet potato tots were good, okra was great. They ran out of Mac n cheese, which we really wanted to try. But I gave 5 stars because of attitude and taste.

We’re from the valley and visit Sedona frequently – now we’ve been here 3 times. It is the best chicken sandwich meal I’ve had in Arizona – maybe top 3 ever. very unassuming being located next to the gas station, but this is a can’t miss stop for your stay in Oak Creek or on the way to Sedona. Get the medium hot chicken and definitely try the fries. Can’t go wrong with Mac and cheese!
