This location is more expensive than other Boz locations I eat at. Also the nacho cheese for the Hot Dogs seemed watered down and the Tomatoes wedges were cut half as big as the other Boz I’ve been too. This Boz is a newer one, so the building was very clean. I have been eating at Boz since I was a kid.

I grew up around Boz and my favorite has always been a chili cheese dog with mustard, relish, and onion. If you grew up with it like I did, you’ll be happy to hear that this is real authentic Boz that tastes as good as it did in the 80s and 90s Southside suburbs. I am so happy to have one so close to home! Me and my husband have tried every brand and type of hot dog and chili you could imagine and we still can’t figure out what kind they use, lol, but that’s ok. I’ll keep this sweet piece of nostalgia and pass on the Boz tradition to them.

Tried them when they first opened. Hot dogs were cold, and the fries. They gave me coupons to try them again sometime, thought that was very nice, however I just was there to try them again and they gave me white hot dogs which they say are half pork half beef and very old cold fries! Again! I won’t be back! Drive the distance and go to the Schererville Bozos place. That one in Schererville is worth the drive, as for cedar lake hot dogs go to Corkey

I’m not gonna dog this place, pun intended. I usually go to Corkey’s and figured I’d try this place. The woman behind the counter was polite and I watched her make the food fresh. I noted the use of an air fryer and don’t care because the fries were crispy (I snatched one in the car on the way home) and there’s no added oils or grease so to anyone complaining about air fryers, bless your heart. I took the order to go and 10 minutes later when I got home, they were cold just like Corkey’s, McDonald’s, Culver’s, etc. It’s not a Boz thing, it’s a time and distance thing, so if you want hot fries, sit there and eat them and stop griping in the reviews.

The beef was delicious. It wasn’t dry, seasoned perfectly, not bland, not overpowering and the woman went ABOVE AND BEYOND by adding garlic to the bun. She offered nacho cheese but, I declined and stuck with the mozzarella. I wanted grilled green peppers but, all they had was spicy stuff. Pepperoncini, jalapenos, sport, giardenaire and I can’t remember the 5th one.

She offered a beverage to go with my order, worked quickly, with care and was sociable (I was the only person there).

The building is fresh and clean. There’s no background music to set the mood and not much in the way of flair on the walls so, the atmosphere is rather basic but, that’s ok if you like the clean, contemporary look. The color palette is pretty neutral.

Pricing is…. Competitive. Keep in mind this is a franchise aka, a “Mom n’ Pop shop” DBA Boz.

People come to these franchises thinking that the name equates to the strength of some kind of corporate backing and the place will survive despite poor and unfair reviews but, the truth is, somebody took a huge risk and invested a lot of their money to chase a dream and wanted to generate business with a brand that people recognize. That brand, I’m sure, charges a lot of money for its use and probably has a dictionary sized book of rules and demands.

I felt the pulse of small business in this place and that is the spirit of Cedar Lake and I hope they succeed for many years. If you disagree, you probably came here from Cook county and are not forced to stay here.

Keep up the good work Boz.

We were supposed to get 7 hot dogs. We called them and told them that we only received 6. They proceeded to tell us that they know how to pack an order and that there were 7 hot dogs, as they have been doing it all their lives. They even showed us the order they wrote down, which was correct on paper.

Our first experience was a bummer! The fries were made in an air fryer. The hot dog looks like it was boiled and sitting for a long time. My husband paid for our food and said he would of cancelled if he knew how the food was made and looked. Stick to Corky’s!!

This place is nothing like the other locations in Chicago. They have no idea what they’re doing. They don’t even use the same hotdogs. The beef hotdog was also. The standard hotdog was white looked like wrinkled fingers in a bathtub. They have two crockpots full of soup and they use a tiny air fryer for their fries.Save your money and go up the street 2 minutes to Corky‘s. Corkys makes fresh fries and everything is delicious. This place was a bummer
