If you drive down Tamiami Trail this local spot is so hard to find, or easy to miss, depending on your thought process. It literally is the definition of a hole-in-the-wall.
But, the staff inside are very friendly and welcoming. We were sat at a table right away and the server was pleasant and attentive.
My wife ordered the chicken bacon bbq breast with tater tots, while I opted for a bacon cheeseburger. Her chicken was good, and the portion was a good size. Tater tots are not offered at most places we go so that was a nice surprise as they were cooked nicely.
The burger I had was also well-done, as requested, and they even put the cheese over the bacon prior to melting the cheese (I love when restaurants do this!).
I do wish the inside was a little more festive. Aside from that, though, Local Spot 941 is worth a visit as the staff and food is outstanding.

We were a little unsure when first entering the restaurant. But but everyone there was so friendly and the food was amazing! Loaded tater tots are great And they definitely don’t hold back on toppings! Their onion rings are out of this world probably my favorite I’ve ever had. The mac and cheese is great they use Gouda cheese. The ruben sandwiches were so good!!

Wanted to find something close to the car dealership, googled, read menu to this place and came over. Quick, efficient service. I got the hot Italian sausage sandwich with onions and green peppers . It came out very different from what I thought I was going to get. It was flattened sausage and had no marinara sauce on it. Boy am I glad it didn’t! This sandwich was just sooooo tasty! The 8” roll was cut in half and was really soft and easy to bite into. I also got a Cabernet. Great little place – not fancy, just a nice little Mom and Pop restaurant.

We enjoyed the Rueben with Coleslaw and Chicken/Bacon Wrap with Onion Rings at Local Spot 941 for lunch today. Both were outstanding! This is a hidden jewel on Tamiami as it is difficult to find without some map help. They have daily specials that are very reasonably priced. Food quality trumps the atmosphere. Highly recommend.

6 stars. Didn’t even finish eating and had to review. This is definitely a hidden locals spot. Recommend the Grouper Reuben but everything that came out of the kitchen looked awesome. Fries and tater tots crisped and salted to perfection.

I found this gem by chance while driving by the sign saying “Famous Reuben Sandwich “… I pulled right in to have lunch with my son and it did not disappoint! It was delicious, and the service was great with a quiet, cozy atmosphere. Definitely seems like a go-to for the locals here. I’ll be back with friends!

Went back today. Still the perfect bacon cheese burger and the friendliest staff. We vacation here 3 times a year. It has been added to our Thursday night meal, ’cause Thursday is $10 burgers and a side day. Thanks Local Spot 941!
First time eating at The Local Spot 941 for my wife and me. It’s family owned and operated-we met mom, dad, the son, and the daughter. They couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. I’m a hamburger and bacon fan and it was $10 burger night when we went (Thursday). I had a bacon burger cooked EXACTLY as I requested. My wife had the patty melt. Not only was my hamburger delicious, but the fries were excellent. My wife had two big slices of watermelon for her side. She loved her patty melt. The atmosphere is soothing and the furnishings are very nice. I was impressed by how clean and neat everything was. We will be back! You need to try it.

Ask them about catering your next breakfast gathering. Mary and her family/team did fantastic for our Mom’s fellowship group of 40. They also have a food truck to bring on site.
We eat their takeout regularly and appreciate the quick turnaround time and daily specials!

Wow, just ate grouper reubens and grouper wraps. Absolutely delicious! Hate to tell people about this hidden gem. From the outside not much to look at, but excellent, delicious, food! Will definitely be back!!
